    Hi guys

I got a £75 adwords gift card through the post today.

Only thing is, I have never used PPC before

What would be the best way to use this?

    Send traffic to my site?

    OR

I have just signed up with adscend media. Im thinking of sending them there. Is this a good idea? is it allowed?

    Please help people

Make a landing page and then send traffic to your landing page.... That is the best way to do it.

    thanks.
So if for example, I was doing a free laptop offer, I would basicly setup a site showing where to enter the draw an send them to the offer?

Or do you thing I should setup a landing page for free prize draws and host a few different ads for them to pick, then create a free draw ppc ad?

I know this thread sounds noobish but I dont usualy do things with PPC and such.

Im more of a seo, micro niche, adsense type of person..

I know it may be tempting to rush in and use the Adwords voucher right away, but please be patient. I would recommend going through some training courses on pay per click first, such as Pay Per Click Formula etc.

What I would do this is.

Create a list of all the keywords you have that are relevant to your site, split them into campaigns and wrtite some decent ads for them.

Switch the account on and let it spend the £75.

When its gone look at your results and use this data to determine which keywords have performed the best, take these keywords and use them as a base to focus your SEO efforts.

If you come across another voucher (they are easy to find) repeat this process with more keywords.

Important things to look for when reviewing your data.

    1. check your keywords for competition difficulty
    2. look for keywords with good CTR and good conversion % (you will need to add conversion code to your site)
    3. Make sure that each campaign only contains adgroups and then keywpords split into very tightly related niches

The voucher is a good way of finding out out which keywords work on your site, which convert, which don't convert and also for finding a good mix of high, medium and low competition keywords.

Be sure to check your bounce rates etc on your stats package to find out what the traffic is doing when it goes to your site, try and set up some funnel and goals too.

    Hope this helps a little.
