PPC direct linking- Is it good?

My CPA allows me to direct link to their landing page. So basically I "just" have to get a PPC campaign that gives me a good return on investment. Though I see many people here talking about the cpa companies spying your keywords.

My question is how do I hide my converting keywords from my CPA company if I plan promoting through **sense via direct linking?
Is this even possible or would recommend getting a landing page with a DMR?

Is the hassle (time and money) of creating a successful ppc campaign really as bad as some people say? Do I really need 500 bucks to start? Practically I'm a noob but theoretically I have read a lot.

Thank you for your feedback
