    Hey ya all,

No doubt, Google has really put some shiver into a lot of people spine lately.

It is not uncommon to see lots of thread from people wanting to know what really works after the several updates that labelled all tactics WRONG.

Here is my opinion and test:

    1. First of all, i have come to understand that virtually all the methods we use in the past are still effective (except blog networks), we only need to be a bit smarter and ahead of the game.

    2. Panda was targeted at crap content, always use unique content through out your back link and you will be safe.
I have never really supported the idea of scraped crap content by various so called SEO Experts.

    3. Penguin was targeted at over optimization. Get familiar with over optimization here http://www.seomoz.org/blog/recovering-from-the-penguin-update-a-true-story. If you are building link do not just use one anchor, ensure you diversify, use the live link without anchor and so on.

    Strategies

    Article directories
    Web directories
    WIKI
    Social bookmarking
    Social networking
    Blog comment
    Guest blogging
    Press release
    Web 2.0
    Link pryamid
Private networks not blog network that cost me $$$$$$
    And many more.

I use manual and software, for places where i can not get everything done, i finish it up manually.

SEO is no longer a cheap dirty game.

To all ya success out there!

Is not so much as a new what you say here but is true.

I can only add to keep it simple be inventive and keep it steady.
A seo campaign is not that you do for like a week and see the result...

What everyone has to realize is that it's not about what works now. If I asked you in 2010, "What works now?" you'd be telling me all the same things that will get you penalized today. Don't keep chasing after temporary rankings and give Google not what it wants now, but what it will want in 2-3 years.

    IM all the way.
    Things that work...

Sites with lots of content. 10+ pages is nice. 5+ is the minimum.
Diversified backlinking profile, with most importantly there being DIVERSIFIED ANCHORS.

Thats largely it, tbh. The sites of mine that don't rank well, or rank then go away, are my crappy 5-page sites with the bare minimum amount of content on them. They are so much harder to rank. If I instead try and rank an aged (1 year+) website with plenty of content (10+ pages) it is a lot easier.

You hit the nail on the head.

Diversity is how you overcome AND stay out of any penalties with Penguin/Panda.

But....It also comes down to onsite factors as well. Penguin aggressively analyzes onsite factors, which most people are overlooking.

Onsite factors that you need to take a good hard look at and fix, or change.

    Keyword density

Keep this below 4%, and also spread out the density throughout the page. Most people know too keep the KWD low these days, but then load up the above-the-fold with all of the instances of the keyword. This happens naturally with many major CMS' like Wordpress where the post title is automatically the H1 tag, and possibly even placed as a link near the top of the page. Then naturally many of us write our content and include the main keyword once, and sometimes more times in the opening paragraph. Reduce this, and spread the keywords out throughout the article.

    Anchor Text Internal Links

This is usually where most people overlook, they were taught to optimize internal links throughout their website with perfect anchor text optimization. That's fine, up until a point. Don't overdo it. Remember that the content should be created for people to read naturally. Often times the user of anchor text links kills that. Penguin was designed to look at this.

Yeah, these information are here since I started learning SEO. But the latest trend in SEO were Web 2.0 sites with thousands of profile links or bloq comments.
And I think this is a good hit from Google that diversity is more importance than ever, because most people are lazy to build all kinds of links. It's boring long process without results for weeks or even months.
