Post here your computer specs.

Yeah better to build it myself but it would take some time as I don't know how to build one at all. I would get someone to build it for me. Hopefully next year I will build mine. :D
It's not as hard as you might think. All of the parts come with instructions and the pre-wired case makes life easier. My buddy had already built his own computer so we just took 2 days and built mine. Don't be intimidated you should just jump in head first you will learn a lot!

Like you said. I use it a lot and it will serve me well so I might as well put some money into it. But to me it comes down to use that to get a new pc or invest. I could just wait a few more months, my pc is still good for the moment.

well have alot due to the fact i do audio production and studio work as well as IM and then general browsing...

studio comp
3.4ghz 3rd gen i7
16 GB DDR3
3 1TB 7200 RPM hard drives
some nvidia card with dual hd monitor outs w dual 24 inch widescreen HD samsung monitors on ergo arms (placement where you want)
w/ windows 8 due to the resources handling
built this one, started with a barebone and upgraded the cpu and power supply and maxed ram etc

bought 3 old school dells off ebay for $51 each that are barebones
3gz pentium 4s with XP and 1GB ram
all ran with a kvm switch on 1 monitor/key/mouse
i run IM programs that arent very cpu intensive but require 24/7 running of them on those
best $150 i ever spent haha

a gateway p7805fx 2010 ish gaming laptop
dual 2.2 core 2 duo extreme
8 GB DDR 3
500 GB Seagate momentus xt hybrid drive
windows 7
use that for some IM/gaming
got it for $800 of ebay 2+ years ago
GET SQUARETRADE WARRANTY ON ALL LAPTOPS!!!
this one broke 4 times and they rebuilt it everytime lol

and last but not least

a trusty POS dell dimension d610
which is slow as crap but is still kicking that i use for things like this
general browsing etc
someone gave this to me as the power supply was "broke"
i got one off amazon for $5.70 shipped lol

i run all of the comps on this dell dimension when doing IM stuff through remote desktop, and there ya go

no special mouses, just laser USB mouses, and normal keyboards...i do keep my brightness down so its not to bright but not to dim on the studio setup as i sit for 10 hour stretches at some point and too much will give you a migraine
