    Hi Folks,

I just wanted to pick your brains. If I can get this working, I'll share the process here.

What I would like to do is write an e-book on a subject. Upload it to my server in PDF format. Create a sales page. And sell that e-book automatically via paypal.

Can you tell me if this is possible? The alternative, of course, is using Click Bank. And maybe this would be a better idea? But, personally, if I'd rather use Pay Pal as long as they can do it (automatic shopping cart, instant downloads).

Do you think this is a good idea? Any ideas on how to do it? Do people charge back e-books via pay pal and perhaps cause me to lose my PP account? Do you need a special PP account?

    Thoughts, appreciated.

Soon as I have this working, I will write a guide on BHW.

I don't recall writing "Ebay" in my title. LOL

    I must have been half-asleep.

I don't want to do this necessarily on ebay.

Just want to know if we can use PP to sell ebooks.

You said you want to write down a ebook and then put it on your own sales page, but didn't mention that sales page gonna be on ebay or your website under your own domain? In both cases, I think, Paypal is fine. Another alternative to Click bank is e-junkie and they are cheaper (just $5 to start and you can list 10 items). They also offer shopping cart, payment processing, affiliate system, promotion etc. facilities. Someone already pro with e-junkie can get you more info on this.

And about chargebacks, i must not say anything about it cause, its always "Seller protection: Not Eligible" or you can say they are always for the buyer's side. However, there are tricks you can utilize to win most of the disputes and get back the money into your account.

I think chargeback is not related to paypal account ban unless you get hundreds of them in a week or short term period. I run a digital product shop and face chargebacks every month but still no problem as long as i keep them updated by responding fast.

    hope this helps :)

    it's easy to setup.
goto paypal and click "Merchant services". then select "website payments.

it will give you a choice of "pay now" buttons and give you the code for your website.
you can even set it up to go to a download page after payment.
