Hi,

Created some popular music lyric videos (lyrics on screen with original music). I always have to approve the "third party claim" (original artist), this way I see advertisements next to and into my videos but they are not for me, more likely for the artist I think ? Is there a way to avoid this and get my videos monetized via my own Adsense account ?

cheers

Nope.. You did not "created" it. You just rendered some pics and lyrics with the audio track i think. That's a difference. It's not your creation and you don't own it.
Your video must have been claimed by bots.. They verify new videos to see if it fits any of the big label songs. Once they claim your video, labels can make money of it, by showing ads on it, even if you agree or not. No money goes to the artist..at least not directly.
If Youtube wouldn't have this sort of copyright policy they would get sued by all major labels, producers, etc.
If you want to make a dime on it, you must claim it's yours . Here's how:

Sign with your real name.
False information can get you banned. Be aware of your statements.

The reason why this works: it's pretty much the same as radio stations air any song they want. They usually give credit to the artist and thus promoting him for nothing in change. And then they place silly ads = money.

+If you're partnered directly with adsense i think you need to complete a sort of form when you try to monetize something, right?(maybe things have changed, lol) In a network you don't need to do that, and nobody verifies your monetized content, and if you really do something wrong they'll just ask you to remove monetization. This is the pro of networks..the con is that you need to split the revenue with them.something like 70you/30them%

btw, labels do pay for promotion of their artists. This is how gangnam got big..and not just psy, but also Skrillex, Gaga, Adele and some of my fav artists. They all use mobile views, and i bet they use the money made from claiming 3rd party videos to fund this mobile view exploit services. Pretty neat huh? Then stupid ppl think they're big, but in reality they aren't THAT popular :( But that's just my conspiracy theory heh..

Its defiantly possible. But its really upto the artist / label because they have the right to remove it anytime ..., I witnessed someone made $2000 off jb's lyrics video ... not that you should all do that but some people just get extremely lucky i guess!.

Thank you for the detailed information !

Is there a way around it like for instance using audio from LIVE performances (not exactly the same as a HD track) ? You could also just upload lyrics videos without an audio track, maybe a bit deceiving ?

cheers

So far, I didn't see any lyrics video that been monetized! Also I tried it and they said about 3rd party content even if you are youtube partner still they don't let monetization of lyrics videos.

indeed, I tried some LIVE recordings of a track and still it get the 3rd party content warnings. The only way you could make money of it is by just syncing the lyrics with the official track and when you are done deleting the audio so only the lyrics are left. You could then make a link in the description to the original official youtube clip and maybe some CPA or iTunes download affiliate link. Adsense is also possible I think because there is just no audio. Wouldn't that be a better way you think ?

Do you want to monetize your video or promote the song through affiliate networks? They are two different topics.

I am now trying with linklockers (disguised) in the description, the linklocker will point to a multiupload link once completed where users can download the song in high quality. Boosting it with Vagex, u2bviews and Addmefast. Curious what will happen. I created the lyric videos myself.

not much result, a lot of clicks on the linklocker links but no leads so... :/

Try selling the channel, that's your safest bet. Monetizing wont bring much money and is very risky. ALSO IF THE CONTENT CREATOR NOTICES IT'S MONETIZED.... that's bad. Very bad.
Sell the channel and let the other person worry about that. Make a few grand before your channel might even get any copyright strikes.

How much views should a channel have in order to be sold?

Best regards,
