    Hey guys

sorry my thread title is a bit miss leading but wasn't sure what else to call it.

Ok, so i have a couple of domain names that i want to create sites with in the future (just dont have time for anything at the moment!)

So.... would it be an idea to make a simple wordpress blog or site using that domain name while i decide what to do with it? like a holding page.

Will this help "age" the site even tho it has very little content on it and maybe only one or two links pointing to it?

    cheers
    tony

I have a few domains that are running wordpress, with some content, but just sitting there doing basically nothing right now, while I am doing another project.. I was thinking the same thing as you. I don't know for sure if it would help, but definitely wouldn't hurt. After all, when I do get around to them.. you know, a new site naturally takes time before it's noticed, rather than a ton of links being driven to them in the first day. Just my 2c

Maybe a good Idea is just to put a wp with wprobot on it and let it make auto posting say 1 every 2 days or so, you just need to select a whole bunch of keywords related to the domain name of the eventual future use and that's it. Your domain will age naturally.

I'm doing (did) a similar thing. I had a site that I needed to show an AM, put an autoblog on it but didn't put any uniquefier type plugin. 10 months later I stopped the auto posts and now I've started to add original content daily.

I hope all that duplicated content doesn't hurt my site. I'm getting about 25 - 30 uniques per day, have only 4 backlinks to the site.

Funny you made this thread, I had a site that I set up like 5-6? months ago and didn't do anything after, I have 3 posts and that's it, was getting NO traffic at all until yesterday, I see some impressions coming in! I need to install Google Analytics and see where they are coming from :p very strange, no backlinks at all

Okay, I read all your comments here. You all seem to believe that updating a site even via an autoblogging method would help your domain age naturally.

Nice thought! But here is what I read somewhere and completely agree with-

    Domain age in index
    Continuous indexing
Lack of search engine TOS violations
    Aged inbound links

I have a routine I use with new domains that I'm not ready to build out. The first week I post an original article and throw a few backlinks to make sure it gets indexed. Then every week or two I put up a PLR or EZA article using wp unique. Generally when I'm putting up an article I'll grab 3-4 and schedule them in wordpress so I don't have to touch the site again for 1-2 months.

I usually have 5 or 6 domains like this just waiting for me to get to them. Whichever one starts getting the most traffic without any real effort is the one I build out next.
