Well if you are up there and getting the visitors but they are just not converting, it's either your sales skills or possibly a programming error

Well if you break it down (this will sound stupid)

traffic + well converting offer = sales

If you have traffic, you need to optimize your page more to increase conversion rates.

Tell us what kind of product or offer you are pushing and how much traffic you are getting.

Yeah, I thought about programming, been through the site over and over and can't see anything wrong anywhere. Problem is, I'm only getting about 5 uniques a day. And none of them are converting. Oh sure, 1 in t0 are signing up to my list, but I'm still not selling anything.

Could it be my pitch page? Followed a "guru template" sales letter, and for this niche the conversions are supposed to be pretty good. But then I've been at the top of Yahoo for these 2 search terms for the past 2 weeks and so farI have only added about 40 people to my list.

Plus I have Page 6 on Google, but that fluctuates between page 6 and page 2 daily, so not sure whats happening there. Oh, and thats only on a long tail keyword. So its not really very noticeable at all in Google just now, but I'm failing to do anything with my fairly valuable top spot on yahoo!

Being number 1 on Yahoo doesnt always = traffic.
I have a couple of websites that are number 1 on Yahoo for their main keywords, & I get next to no traffic from them, one is a web design site nd the other an SEO site both very common and popular searches, and neither bringing in any traffic.

Not stupid at all Bibop. Thanks for the tip. See last post for rough traffic details.

Can't really tell you my product as there may be other 'less-friendly' and more experienced black hatters may come walking in and destroy my niche completely lol

Will check out page optimisation a little more.

    Thanks for the help.

Ok then if you are top of the results and getting no traffic.

    Yahoo usually uses the
    <meta name="description" content="crap here"
tag to display in it's search results. Are your meta tags attractive enough? Maybe people are not clicking because you have no meta tags or bad ones.

Another option could be if you use Flash. Yahoo doesn't like Flash a great deal as it confuses it

Your getting 5 visitors a day??!!

Whoa man thats lousy. No matter how good your sales page you still need shit loads of traffic to equal conversions. I sometimes convert one in 400. So that'll be 40 days of your traffic for 1 conversion..

I agree with Shafty mate. 5 vistors a day is nowhere near enough. If your trying to sell stuff from your site then think of it like this. A shop on the high street will have more then 5 people peer though the window before said shop gets a sale no matter how attractive that shop is to look at. Mind you if it was selling iphones for $50.00 a pop then there would be a queue round the corner. So also remember if you still dont get sales when you build your traffic up that what your selling might not be such a great buy.
