I just launched a forum (vBulletin) for a software product that I launched some time ago. We have a very large number of users of our software, all of which have been automatically registered as users on the forum and a notification has been sent out to them letting them know it's now live. However, there is really NOTHING worse than an empty forum...even with a large, healthy userbase, it's going to be difficult to get any of them to "make the first move" and start to get the ball rolling. I'm looking for suggestions on how to start getting the forum populated with RELEVANT posts, questions, comments in the appropriate categories of my new forum. Ideally, I'm looking to pay for a service of real people to get the job done or at least started. My second choice, that I really don't want to go with but will if I have to, would be some kind of software. Does anybody have any experience with actually USING a "pay service" to have real people come in and begin populating my forum with real, relevant content? I'm not afraid of spending money, so any suggestions at all are helpful to me, regardless of cost. EDIT: I put this in "blogging" because it's about the closest forum that made sense to me to put this in.
