Hey,

I've seen it a lot lately, and Im wondering why they do this,

so why do Popular pages most Funny pages with 1Million Followers + , go private for a amount of time ???

I dont get it

Big pages go private when they are doing a SFS....I will let you guess why. ;)

I actually do not know..can you explain..I read different opinions about it....is it ok for instagram ? or can cause a ban ?

Ive noticed this too i was recently copying followers directly from a page using bluestacks but then when i opened the page it suddenly was private then i had to follow it to follow its likers :/ lol it had around 2 million followers!

my guess is they go private during SFS to maximize follows and you can also track specific SFS gains better that way.

Because it helps them gain more followers.

Look at it this way if you see a page and you really want to see their posts won't you want to request them so you are able to see their posts?

Its a double edged sword. Yes you main gain a slightly higher % but you lose on likes. When people follow u on the spot most of them rend to like some photos while they are there. If you accept hours/days later they might not even notice you accepted until you upload some material.

Trust me ive tested this.

Going private will help them track which shoutout gained them more followers.

How exactly does that help?

If the user has 1000 requests in his queue after a shoutout going private doesn't help trace where they came from.

If anything, going private will damage a shoutout as some of that traffic will visit your profile, see you're private and not bother following you.

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on this...

You actually get a higher % of follow, because people get curious and request to follow you.

Fair play. I can believe that some will get curious and follow but I haven't tested it.

Personally I just navigate away if they are private.

That's just me though ;)
