Hi,

Some of my websites have been tanked by penguin, and since a few days I am creating BLs again and again, deoptimizing it as well, but nothing positive yet to encourage me a little bit
...
So I was wondering if it was not easier to buy another domain name and build another website...

Thoughts?

The problem in my case is that I have a blog that is nearly 4 years old, I cannot just forsake it and start a new one just because it got tanked by Penguin. I'm doing the same as you, but still no positive results. *sigh*

Some say that it's better doing nothing, and rankings will come back after a few weeks/months by themselves, like if it was just a temporary penality.

All of this is very confusing, and meanwhile we are losing money, arf.

One site of mine has been tanked too, I will wait a few weeks before doing anything, I am monitoring it closely.

I ranked a difficult keyword in 2 months. But this update sent my website to 112.I will wait for some time.If ranking doesn't comeback, i will start different method to rank again.

Better make a new site.
Also, try to do various experiments on the old sites.

I got a site that was hit by penguin, from #1 to somewhere in #10-#14. Tried to rank it again, but every time it gain some serp rankings like #8 or #7 it will come back to #10-14 ... So I decided to build a new site targeting same keywords, the new site now sits on #4-#5..

So I guess I will just wait for my old site to come around, It is wasting my time and money trying to rank it.

I would make a new site and in the meantime try to rank the old one again.

I would say your poll is incorrectly formulated... The first possibility should not be "continue backlink process" , but "try to rank it again" . Getting out of Penguin penalty is not about "continue backlink process" .

So at this time, I wanted to vote, but there really wasn't an option for me :)

Build a competition against yourself is the mantra against penguin. If your site has gone, it will come back after sometime, unless it's out of the Big G's eyes. If it's still available somewhere in top 1000, then leave it alone and concentrate on a new site. At the same time, feed your old site as well, but not as much as your new one. If you're lucky, you'll have 2 sites on top, else you'll have a fresh one or an aged one. Either way, it'll be good for you.

I want to make a new site, but with all these different factors at play, you could easily throw your money in the trash if the new site ends up getting tanked like the old one by accidently triggering one of the filters/algorithmic penalty's . All it takes is one mistake and *POOF* your gone.

Don't make mistakes.

Don't make mistakes.

If it was that easy, everyone would be doing it. Unfortunately google is not giving you a complete list of things they are looking for so unless you have money to spend, you are gambling. Period.

i also got a tanked site which i'm now trying to bring back. I set myself a limit on how much money i will spend to try to get it back. Then i searched services that matched my imaginations and now im looking forward to see if my plan works.

You can call it gambling but even gamblers have methods to win. Same thing with SEO, learn from your mistakes and use methods that work.

We are still in 2 different ball parks. The rules of gambling dose not change as often as an algorithmic update. Gambling rules are almost fixed and rarely change so of course you would be able to find a working method, just like anything of this nature. This is how google use to be, before the penguin/panda updates and now with these refreshes they are doing. It makes it harder to just stick to one method as it can be easily whipped out over night and you are back to where you started (or even worst off since that's money down the drain). Look at this thread i posted today: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...1-1-more-than-refresh-says-google-report.html .

So that means if google dose another refresh, they are most likely going to add even more factors on top of the changes they already made. The whole point of them doing this is to make it more difficult for people to game their system, unless you have money to spend, its either a hit or miss and you can end up in a deeper hole than when you started.

Google algorithm is not perfect and will never be. It will always have leaks and that's why the BHW community exists: to find those leaks and beat Google. It's a constant battle in which the ones who know more SEO will survive.

You're right mate, but it's not possible to modify the poll now :)

Anyway everybody has understood the meaning, continuing backlinking = continuing efforts to rank the tanked site

I will suggest you to check your website on-page optimization with IBP and make it to 80-90%. In 48 hours you can see some SERP improvement. Then build backlinks and target 5-10 keywords. and in web 2.0 remember to post images and video. IN each web 2.0 give backlink to your main website and some other website like Wikipedia or any high PR website.
