Hey guys.

This is a general question. I would like to know the average time it takes for people to succeed in IM. I have an idea to make an analysis of the data and make some graphs out of it, for example, finding the connection between the number of posts and time of success (to prove it is worth to be active on the forum! ) but lets start with this poll and we will see how it goes.

Some definitions so everyone will be on the same level. They are definitions I made and if anyone wants to make them more accurate I would love to hear suggestions:

The time you started: The approximate time of your first action in IM. It can be when you were 16, heard about it and started reading more or when you were 22 and got a job after you finished uni. Actions include reading about IM, spending money on IM, doing IM or applying/getting a job in IM.

Success: There can be a lot of definitions of success. My definition is the approximate time where your net earnings that month after expenses reached around 50% of your lifestyle costs. This means if you live in a fancy house and make $10,000 each month the approximate time your earnings were $5000. If you living on $1000 a month the approximate time your earnings reached $500. Another addition is that you were able to replicate this success for at least 3 months in a row. I am sorry guys, a one-time lucky hit is not success in my books. You need to be able to recreate your success through skill.

That is all for now folks. I hope I will get a lot of information and I will try to make something useful out of it.

A lot of the data from the people would be useless since many people who post don't much here are also successful .

You are correct. I am trying to get as much information from the people who do post here.
