I've got a little business idea I'm considering and part of it involves SEO software that runs on specific windows VPS.

So I'm keen to see who runs their SEO software (that isn't cloud-based) on their home PC/laptop and who runs it on a Windows VPS / dedicated server?

Thanks :-)

Always dedicated server for. I guess its much more cheaper and i always try to use the server to its full potential. Best thing about is, that when something breaks (graphics card, RAM, etc.) then i don't have to pay for it as i only pay the monthly fee for hosting it.

It depends. If i would need the software to run 24/7 i would 100% choose a dedicated server or vps, if i want that tool to run for like 2-3 hours, i would let it run on my laptop; but if you meant for the ones who provide seo services, then yes they need a dedi/vps.

Can ask what sort of thing you guys would run on it, is it just the standard GSA/ rankerX / scrapebox etc?

I have everything on there. From own coded software via uBot, Jarvee Software, the ones you have mentioned above and all sorts of software. I just don't like having my computer on 24/7 just to run some software.

Windows Vps is the best, you need good specification pc to run. All the best.

I interesting , what configuration you are having and how much are you paying per month?

I prefer to use dedicated software that needs to run on windows VPS

IDK If it's just me or people are giving bad answers. To me it isn't a question of a vps vs personal computer. It really depends, however IT ALL BOILS DOWN TO FRESH IPS that arent blacklisted.
So you can have a Large Machine with VMware on it (64 gb ram etc) and robest internet with 10gbps running couple of different os for different things, like a small linux machine to SSH and operate multiple VPS. A windows running bought SEO tools , another windows collecting proxies or using proxies to rank.

But key is really how many clean IPS can you aquire to orgnaically rank yourself and how efficient is your personal machine and what is it doing. For sure you need the VPS to handle much complex heavy duty stuff that would consume a lot of electricity. But having a personal server operating all day comes in handy to operate and connect to the VPS and automate simple stuff, for instance you can't be saving crm email infos on a vps or crucial info that would hurt you financial if the datacenter gets compromised or they ban you lol.

I know of a guy that knows a girl that knows a guy that ran a dozen rpi4 with robust coding for seo ... true story. after a year he was on the first page and the cost to operate the rpi's is nothing. managed all rpis with his laptop scp/ssh. Asked him why he did what he did and he answered that he wasn't interested in the end result and only a fool would not acquire vps for seo and hosting , but he wanted to experience the potential with IOT device and if it can truely change the future and potentiatially save resource/ space / $$$ /bandwith by using them instead of going with a bulky vps in a datacenter stacked on racks and using so much electricity. LOL. Man was a genius.

anws. to begin with I would deff use a vps and grow from there

I have my own home server for various tasks.
But recently added VPS because my upload speeds at home is bad, so some tasks that is uploading sites on hosting I do on VPS.

I have a mini pc at my home, I have it running all day running tools and tasks. I get cheaper than a vps.

To be honest with you, most of vps sellers dont allow seo software bots etc. The ones that explicitly allow, offer vps at higher price. So check those 2 points.
I am getting a 2nd pc next week and will be running some seo tools on it.
I got it pretty cheap at amazon, it's a renewed pc , cost me 170$ for 3 ghtz processor and 8gb ram can add another 8gb if I want.
It's got windows pro so I can do rdp connection to it from my laptop.
Also if you are planning to rent vps remember that it its a datacenter proxy and residencial proxies are expansive.
You have much more freedom with a spare pc than a vps but both have there own pros and cons.

Whats the the best vps you recommend for rankerx please

I used to do it on spare home PC's but now use VPS 100%. Much much easier to manage from wherever I might be via my mac.

I run everything on a dedicated server, just need a faster home internet connection to reduce lag
