Please vote if your site dropped in rankings after using private blog networks like ALN, HighPRsociety, BMR, LinkVana, ArticleRanks, Unique Article Wizard etc...

Please follow Elvis1973 initiative to post which networks you used, might also be wise to post your site age and how diverse your backlinks are to get a complete picture.

I mostly used High PR society and ALN and lately experimenting with ArticleRanks, UAW and MAN, the site age for most sites that I tested on is >1 year and all sites already had a diverse backlink portfolio (with the exception of one site that is less then 3 months old, only used socialbookmarks and High PR society posts and very easy to rank keywords).

I used ALN for blog posts. My site is about 7 months old. I have a ton of wiki links, web 2.0 posts, blog comments, edu links, and social bookmarks. Also my rankings have steadily increased since Panda 3.3.

I dropped big after joining several networks with a site that was about one year old and had a very healthy link profile. perhaps I didn't vary link text enough. Noted.

I own my own private blog network and I haven't seen any drops in the rankings.

    In the sandbox. Again.
I used only High PR Society and had huge jumps on the day everyone else was hit.

Quite a bit of people voting, yes I dropped after using private networks. People who have negative experience are always more vocal ofcourse. ;)

Well, yes i dropped in rankings but it is before the network lost its value or has been deindexed.

That said, the benefits caused at the first place make it profitable.

At the end, i won in rankings.

It will drop if you use it like an idiot, which means 1000 blog posts in one day.

Drip feed them to 30 days and the problem is solved. I never had any problems if I posted like 20 blog posts per day or a similar number

Nope :) But that vote isn't completely accurate because almost everyone uses blog networks => almost everyone who's rankings dropped will answer yes.

Yeah I said that as well, the rankdroppers are more vocal.

I think 75/25 would be a more reliable view on things. And then of those 25% that saw droppings in the ranking probably half of them used it in a wrong way or other reasons that caused the drop like standard Google Dance on benefit of doubt for new sites, which leads to a 87.50/12.50 ratio. Which looks way more reliable cause of the 5 sites I worked on none have dropped, and actually increased awesome in the rankings.

    Hoax is proved :D
