Police brutality has nothing to due with the freedoms a nation offers, but with the working conditions and the employment selection that police force have. There was a study shown that police officers that have at least a 2 year degree are way less likely to be involved in a police brutality case.

The police are also not trained to deal with mentally unstable persons, and they are going to be ones mainly dealing with them since in many parts of the U.S. has mental health care services are cut greatly.

Who knows what that guy was doing or why the police acted the way they did. I would side with the officers in most cases, unless you have real evidence of misconduct.

There's been tons of cases of police brutality in the news lately, especially with the occupy wall street movement and stuff. It's really disgusting, these guys are nothing more than a gang that operates with the backing of the government. Yes some cops are nice guys, but power corrupts, and theres tons of assholes who use their authority to do terrible things.

If you wanna see some fucked up cops, check out this video:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tp5bjzAwdAc

A girl gets arrested for calling 911 for her father who was on the floor having seizures. The cop still has a job after this shit happened. It's disgusting.

Theres another video where these guys go around and try to file a complaint form at police stations, and the police refuse to give them a form every single time. Instead they harass them, and in some cases, arrested the people for asking for a complaint form. These guys are thugs.

Police brutality happens all over the world. It is the same as anything else in life. There are good people and there are bad people in every race, color, religion, and occupation.

when i saw police shutting down lemonade stands and arresting the kids parents for not having a permit in their own front yard i knew my america was gone. i've been gone from that place so long that the fire breather at the corner who performs at red lights doesn't seem strange to me, and the other night i was watching an american movie and the guy was talking about getting a "bartenders license" - which has become a ridiculous concept. what? a 250k plaque to start a cab in manhatten, 5k cosmetology license to braid hair, get fined for not trimming my own trees, cant go to the casino, can't play online legally in my own living room, even in germany i can walk down the street with a beer if i'm not doing something stupid. i hope i never go back to that country, people think they have freedom cause it's the "bastion of freedom", but most people aren't old enough to remember when it was really a free country. oooh, they can go to the church they want and say what they want - you can do that in pretty much any country.

These are extreme cases. And most videos only show half the story.

The lemonade thing is insane. But the cops don't make the laws. Blame the politicians.

i tell you what i've learned from living in a few different countries. cops without guns - are a lot nicer. you might think that idea is insane in the u.s. - it's not. the other problem is that incarceration has become a profit industry. today i read about the teacher who had sex with her students - all over 18, facing 20 years.
