I want to do ads with one of the two for my offline business which is personal training. I was thinking POF can be good to target on single people that need to lose weight. FB might be good also to drive them to my fanpage which in turn should direct them to my site. Anyone have any experience or input?

Lol man I thought you didn't want to do paid traffic. Anyway I've got some pretty good notes on FB ads if you want them. If you've got a good fan page then clicks to it from FB will be much cheaper as you are keeping the user on FB. If you optimize your ad enough for a high CTR, you can get clicks for single digit pennies. Disadvantage of FB is much less 'active', far more 'passive' traffic i.e. not in the buyer mood, in the social mood instead, not actively looking for stuff to buy etc. Instead of going for the sale straight away you can target people in your area with specific interests, capture the lead and communicate with them on a constant basis and hopefully some of them will bite.
