Its difficult to suggest BEST router unless you provide some information on its future usage. BTW you posted this in the wrong section.
 
I bought this Netgear router in 2006 when I was a 1 device man, still works awesome after 8 years though it gets turned off only on rare occasions, and connects all my 11 devices. Some things stick with you for life, and I think this is going to be one of them.
 
You just need a router that is supported by dd-wrt. Install that, and it will be the best router :)
 
D-link DIR-600M N150 wirless router . INR Rs.976. anything else you want to know.
 
I use netgear router. Using it since 3 years and stays on 24x7.
