what gave it awaay?ChatGPT at it's best.
"Regenerate Response"
For real though
Needing cPanel is a separate convo/debate on it's own but "option to get/buy a domain", don't do it.
For your own sanity, don't mix hosting and domain in the same account.
That's just spell for trouble.
There is actually some pretty decent options in the BHW marketplace that are cheap and usable.
Don't fall for the bluehost/hostgator/godaddy bigpromo/bigname/imthebest hosting provider crap out there.
You are only gonna be disappointed, with the lies/wrongly interpreted promises
Also, this statement is nearly always true, you get what you paid for.
Also, @V knows his stuff, I remember the days where he helped me get my VPS up and running

Actually I would like it for a side project and don't want to use the hosting I usually use. I am wiping the dust of my SMS Ultimate plugin/theme/setup and would give it a one more try, want something new and cheap/small for hosting. I believe it requires cPanel to set it up.

I have really no idea, what you would like to host on these sites.
But if you want the cheapest webserver, I can recommend HostKoala to you, they have cheap CPanel hosting.
If you want to host larger sites, I recommend to search another hosting for VPS as example Hetzner.
For Domains, I always use Namecheap or GoDaddy.
If you need OffShore Domains, I recommend to use njal.la
