So I just bought hosting with hostwinds.com. When I was purchasing it, they asked "would you like to purchase a dedicated ip"

    I clicked no.

Now i'm not sure what to put here:

My previous host gave me an ip address I used.

Also how do nameservers work? I'm not familiar with any of this stuff. I have 2 name servers and 2 ips that go with them. Am I supposed to input those into my domain nameservers thing?

Sorry i'm so nooby. I'm new with hosting and domains.

You just need to point your domain nameserver to your hostwinds nameserver.

    Code:
    http://www.namecheap.com/support/knowledgebase/article.aspx/767/10/how-can-i-change-the-nameservers-for-my-domain
Don't worry, I encountered this problem too when I was a noob so there is no shame in that.
However, next time please use the search function before asking.

haha I actually did search and found that exact same video. I followed it. I'm just wondering what I do with the ip adresses they gave me?

    I put them into here.

Was I supposed to do that?

My domain still leads to a "problem loading page"
I understand it may take 24 hours. But I just want to make sure everything is perfect.

    ---------------
This is what they gave me:

    Nameserver1: ns18.hostwindsdns.com
    NS1 IP: 174.748.64.25
    Nameserver2: ns145.hostwindsdns.com
    NS2 IP: 119.456.52.34

I used fake numbers and what not, but that's exactly what it looks like. I'm not sure where to put any of this stuff.

    :(

I followed this tutorial for the nameservers:
    Nameserver1: ns18.hostwindsdns.com
    Nameserver2: ns145.hostwindsdns.com

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=sMhEa6bDaVA

And then I put the ip adresses into:

    Did I do it right?

    Hi,
On namecheap, go to manage domains, then click on on your domain.
After that click on Domain Name server Setup.
Tick : Specify Custom DNS Servers ( Your own DNS Servers )
And below just write your DNS in the 2 fields :
    Field 1 : ns18.hostwindsdns.com
    Field 2 : ns145.hostwindsdns.com

Save changes and you are done.

    I hope that I haven't missed a part.

    Cheers

How long does it usually take? It's been 12 horus since I updated it and it's still not working.

I think it's the company. I just updated the name server to another hosting company and it worked in like 10 mins.

Thanks for trying to help me though.

Hostwinds support was amazing but they could not help me at all. I'm going to go with another host company. Good thing I only bought hosting for 1 month.

flush your dns to see a update.
    goto cmd and type
    ipconfig /flushdns
