Please help me with my dilemma

**If you want to know how I got into this mess you can ask and I'll tell it. I feel stupid but don't mind sharing...lol**

Anyway here is my situation:

I have a domain name that is a real stinker, its 21 letters long and contains three dashes, yes you read that right, 3 dashes. This isn't really it but its about the same: you-give-great-loving.com

The domain has only one page (index.html) which only contains banners to affiliate programs, no real content at all.

Now you won't believe this but...
Alexa Traffic Rank: 152,675 Traffic Rank in US: 182,301
Sites Linking In: 1,515

This is not because of some script or black hat technique. This is total white hat, or actually by accident. The domain is 8 years old and has grown naturally I guess you could say.

I get on average 20,000 hits a day to this site, 60% from the USA, rest from all over the world. Its a PR 3 site also.

OK now the dilemma...

I want to use this traffic to jump start a new website, a site with real content, a site I can work on and grow, but I don't want to use this crappy domain name and I don't want to screw up what I have now.

In my mind I've only got one option which is just to put a big ENTER link on the index.html page and take them to my new domain, his way I get the traffic to where I want it and don't screw up anything.

My questions:
Is there a better way? Can I pass all this domains love to a new domain name? Would a 301 redirect do it or is there risk that I would loose something somehow?

Thanks in advance for you insights as my seo knowledge is very limited.

Correct a 301 redirect will automatically redirect visitors and will also pass most of the link juice to your new domain so that is definitely the way to go. It's really simple to do as well.

Shew... That's great to hear! Thanks so much guys I'll do that.

If you use cPanel, then doing 301 redirect is much easier. Go to "Manage Redirect", add your sites, and you're done.
