    Dear blackhatworld,

I wish I had a good money making strategy to post but my insomnia crisis has worsened. (Yeah this isn't a medical forum, but there are so many smart people here and I figure you guys get me the right connections. I hope I'm not breaking any rules here.) There is something severely wrong with my brain and central nervous system. I have had literally 15 minutes of sleep for days and any and all medications to induce sleep have failed and all methods that I have tried have failed. I need an emergency sleep study done otherwise I might blackout at this point / have a seizure etc.

I have a medical script from a neurologist for the sleep study but I believe the sleep clinics in my area are all booked in the New Jersey area for weeks and right now no one is treating this as serious. I don't care where in the world I have to go to get this sleep study done, I don't care if I have to rack up a massive debt to get the sleep study done (if they don't take my insurance etc.) but this is so serious at this point. If someone knows of a sleep clinic that can take people on an emergency basis, please let me know.

the best trick is not to try to sleep, just relax back do something boring or yes weed and alcohol do work to but they are not a permanent solution now i have insomnia myself and this tactics usually work for me

I went to the University of Nebraska Medical Center (Omaha) for a sleep study.
I had sleep apnea. I use a cpap machine now. Helped a lot.
    Also take Rozerem.
    Good Luck

i used to have insomnia and still get it sometimes, i know this might sound stupid but i found some random crappy relaxation tape from the torrents years ago and i listened to it every night and i would be asleep in 15 mins, i dont even remember what it was called and i dont need it anymore coz the method was very basic... the way it worked was that you sit in bed close your eyes and relax 1 muscle at a time.. eg: start with your fingers, tense up each finger then relax it one by one and think notice the release of tension as you relax it, then the next finger, then your fore arm, shoulder, chest head until you have done every muscle tensing and relaxing etc etc... i heard this method mentioned the other day on some shitty housewives show called 'this morning'

there is a piece on it here, its called pregressive muscle relaxation and it works http://www.streetdirectory.com/travel_guide/print_article.php?articleId=39123

they also say dont use your bedroom for anything other than sleep, this is not possible for me but i did sleep better in my last house where i had a room as a dedicated office and only slept (and had sex) in the bedroom :)

dont you have to buy health insurance there?
i used to work for the health service here in the uk and i know why they dont like to pay out for stuff... its because the chief executives like to blow the our tax money on £30000 oak boadroom tables and £6000 on office desks , not to mention the petrol allowence for his Porsche... i installed our CEOs pc when he got his new desk and i left a major gash in his oak varnished desk.. by accident of course :p

    maybe request an appointment?

my grandfather was just at the mayo clinic because he was forgetting stuff and losing memories and was confused all the time!
he had to spend 21 hours on 3 different planes to get there but they found some liquid accumulating in the back of his head, kept him there for 3 months while they drained it out and gave him meds to stop it.
    yikes!

well worth it in my opinon! hope you can find an appointment

Keep looking for sleep clinics. If they are booked for months, that is crazy. I had one done and when I booked the appt I only had to wait a week. Also, call some local colleges and universities (med schools). Seriously, if they take pity on you from your initial inquiry, perhaps a professor there will hook you up with someone who can get you in a clinic asap. Someone will help.

Btw, the clinic I went to was Arete, but I'm not sure if they have clinics in your area. Good luck!

    OMFG that's hilarious.
Seriously. Cheap hotel. Viagra. Whore. Alcohol. Tell her to bring some Weed. Bring only the amount of money you need to pay for all that, and leave your wallet at home.

What meds have you attempted to use ? I work at a Mental Health facility and deal with people with sleep issues on a daily basis. Have you tried

    Trazodone
    Remeron
    Seroquel(300mg or higher)
    Doxepin

Those are all non controlled substances. A controlled substance is Ambien. That works but is habit forming.

If you are interested in getting some of the non controlled meds at no cost to you, just hit me up. You have my IM details already. I would not be able to mail them to you or anything, but you are right across the bridge from me.

I'm an insomniac, but I don't see it as a serious issue. I might go 2-4 hours of sleep a day for a few days, but then I become too tired, and end up sleeping 8-16 hours in a row, and then I'm good again for a few weeks. I take advantage of my insomnia by working when I can't sleep, and watching hulu dot com when I'm too tired to work.
So I did not by any means intend to make light of anything that could be a health issue, because in my case my "prescription" would work for me. Actually, I'd just skip the pot and get a second girl. See cityvibe dot com if you need help with that. (Forget craigslist)

Yeah dude, you should definitely look into the apnea as the problem. My Grandma has sleep apnea and she could not fall asleep because she would stop breathing and wake back up so she ended up staying awake for days at a time.

She eventually started hallucinating and would not sleep at all. You can get an insomnia type effect from sleep apnea depending on how bad it is.

Now she has a cpap machine and she went from basically being awake 24/7 (with little 5-10 second passouts every now and then) to being completely fine.

At least mention it. Well you'll find out either way when you do the study I guess.
