    Dear BHWers,

I am reaching out to you as I am trying to help raise awareness for a hereditary disease that gradually affect the muscle functions throughout the body with hands and feet being most severely affected. Worldwide it affects just shy of 3 million people, but the community has achieved lots over the course of the last few years and has come a lot closer to finding a cure, and the associated association is optimistic a cure (for the most common type of the disease) may be found within 5 years. I, myself, am also affected by this disease, but manage to live a relatively normal life despite of it.

I know a lot of you are Facebook gurus, and I was hoping some of you may help me share this image to raise as much awareness of this disease as possible.

By raising awareness, more money also ends up being donated. In the end, it is this donated money that finances the ongoing research (link).

If you are interested in learning more about the disease, the CMT Association has a lot of information on their site:

I really appreciate any and all kind of help you guys might be able to offer with regards to spreading the awareness of this disease. Though there are a lot of people much more affected by this disease than myself, my big dream is to one day live without the challenges that it does unfortunately impose.

    Best regards,
    Thomas

    CashController,

I am trying to leverage the Facebook expertise on BHW to raise awareness for a good cause. Yes, I do benefit from this myself, as I am surely hoping a cure will be found sooner rather than later, as I am also affected by it.
