    Hi All,

A 2010 arrest that never showed up on Google has now started showing up on page 1 from the news papers achieved news stories.

I've begged and pleaded with the paper, but they will not take it down. Is there any way to lower it's google ranking? Willing to pay for someone to help. Maybe spamming out the website address?

    Thanks,

    Rob

Posting your name on a public forum is not a very good start to managing your online reputation.

I'd suggest editing your post and taking your name out ASAP

You really make a mistake, posting your name in a public forum in relation to what you want to be de-ranked while wanting to clean your reputation. I hope it?s just a nick? If not, just edit and remove it ...

just create 10 websites about yourself and outrank the news story about you. Shouldn't be too hard. That's how most people do it.

Great news for you, now the second result will be this post on BHW. You're creating yourself quite a reputation.

Edit: I've read the story, it's pretty interesting. I shared it on my facebook pages and twitter.

ORM. All you do is rank other things above it and push it way down in the serps.

You can start off with ranking your social pages and then add some web 2.0s talking about you.

Rank them, which shouldnt be easy, and then barely anyone will see that article.

Get several high pr profile pages created under your name and bury the news article deep.

that's a hell of a story. your brother broke into a car, stole some credit cards, and bought some stuff. then you vandalized the theft victim's vehicle AND pretended to be a District Attorney/free mechanic referral service in an attempt to get victim to drop the charges? that's insane. and you're incredibly lucky they only hit you with the bribery charge. i see at least 3 felonies here, and possibly a fed offense.

this thread is comedy gold, by the way. Thanks.

I just googled your name and the archived court article came up in 10th place. So just build some links to the pages that rank at the top of page 2 of google until they outrank the court article and push it on to page 2.

    Lol blackhat at its best!

It is #20 where I am right now.

OP, I can just tell you what you need to do to clean that up if you want... you can fix that without major stress and a little elbow grease.

I won't charge to tell you what to do either... stuff happens, you screwed up but you are not that guy anymore and that story should not take preeminence over the current person you are.

Shoot me an email - [email protected] and I'll point you in the right direction.

I would normally offer my services, but you will probably pay with a dodgy credit card, so I am unable to offer my services this time.

Have you tried posing as a member of the District Attorney's Office and bribing the paper yet? :D

You should just consider a legal name change. You told us the date of the article and you have your full name on a public forum. That was more than enough information than I needed to find the article. However, I can see why you want that article taken down, I even know where you live now! What you need is a reputation management company to help you out. I cannot recommend any, although I'm certain you could find them if you look around the Internet.

On a side note, what if the OP just created this account to ruin someone's already abysmal reputation by posting it on the forum and getting this page to rank in Google (so whenever someone searches for the name, this page comes up)? If this were the case, it's a pretty clever plan.

You need to get the same KW title in other higher ranking sites to appear... which can be done with a press release.

"stealing his neighbor's credit cards and buying groceries with them"

"approaching the victim in an attempt to get her to drop the charges"

"the tires on the victim's car were slashed, the car was keyed and a windshield wiper was broken, adding up to thousands of dollars' worth of damage"

OP you don't sound very bright
