what the hell is a budgie. i get from the site it's a bird but i've never heard of that name before.

yea, it's nice. I think it should do well... providing you keep getting articles. The bird lovers are a good niche, and I think that you'll do well.

Looks ok, Niche is good but depend to the keywords you are targeting ..

Since you want the blog to looks like that, use Thesis theme, site will looks better and SEO'ed .. .

Go to PS plugin and deactivate that footer credits "SEO Powered by Platinum SEO from Techblissonline" , also remove the other them footer links .

I see a number of links withing the posts, linked posts like that will harm your ranking, better remove them .. .
