I stumbled upon this obvious scam (deal too good to be true and verified as such) and I decided to play along to see how I would get scammed or if it was extreme blackhat.

He/she/they posted a random house for rent, with pretty accurate info, that isn't available at all, let alone for the price posted, and after a little back and forth via email (obviously he isn't in town right now), it looks like he is trying to get a security deposit first of all, and that could be it.

I know that it's a waste of time, but it's just a little fun that I want to have and curiosity about what game he/she/they are playing...

What should I do for a little more amusement?

Play along 'til I'm asked for funds to be wired or what?

    Any fun ideas?

I wonder if this guy is on BHW.... :ciao:

That is it, I know someone who got scammed that way. He's going to ask for it via WesternUnion. Google scambaiting tips, go to the first link which is 419hell, then you'll find a link to a fake forms for money transfers :) enjoy lol

Seen the same thing on craiglist with cars. They post a decent car with about 20K less miles than average and then when you contact them they are "out of town" need the money due to divorce or military deployment but they will pay to have the car shipped to you...blah blah blah.....

Obviously I did not fall for it but they are out there so beware.
