    Dear BHW members,

I am currently contemplating whether to launch an affiliate service for our product or not, and I would really appreciate any input you have in regards this topic.

    A bit of a backstory:

Basically we are a small, but quite successful company working within the Trading/Financial sector. We had a SaaS model going on a couple of years ago with several hundred signups, but to be honest it was not the most user friendly web-based application ever. Regardless of this, many users were very satisfied with it. We have learned from this a lot and are now currently providing part of the web-based services for free, with several hundred users each day.

Now we are thinking of expanding the service, including software that was previously unavailable to clients and also programming entirely new aspects, making everything way more user friendly, and tacking a subscription fee on top of it. New design as well. It sohuld be ready within a couple weeks.

Since everything is web based I figured that it would be quite easy for experienced affiliate marketers to sell the subscriptions, especially since it is:

    1. Recurring monthly
    2. In a high-paying niche

My question to any affiliate marketing pros out there would be the following:

    - What are you looking for when you decide to work with a service?
    - Is it still a viable route to take to increase awareness for a product and generate sales?

I have some minor knowledge about clickbank, plimus etc. but to be honest we think that our services are a bit higher profile than to go with marketplaces like that. We would code our unique tracking links and all that jazz, but I would really appreciate if any of you could add their 2 cents on how to do it properly to be attractive to affiliate marketers.
I know that the higher the payout % the more likely it is to attract you, but since it is monthly recurring there might be some wiggle room. Or how about a fixed earnings model that increases with each signup (like hostgator does foe example)? Would that work?

Thank you very much in advance for your input!

A high converting offer which will get lots of money. Your offer is a recurring monthly payment that would be appealing. If you can show good past stats that would be good.

Yes this is still a viable way to make sales and raise awareness. You mentioned Clickbank, they are a well trusted affiliate manager/network. Also might be worth looking at jvnotifypro.com when/if you launch your affiliate program.

    Hi,

Nice signature banner, and thank you for the input.

As mentioned I would rather stay clear from clickbank/plimus/etc. marketplaces like this. While clickbank is nice, and I really do have nothing against them I think that they are better suited for the online marketing niche. Our product is currently used by very large clients financially speaking, and I am sure that it would do us no good if it would pop up in the clickbank marketplace like some common ebook.

Since we are just starting there is no data available, all I have would be customer reviews - mind you not the ones you see on sketchy niche websites, but actual feedback from daily users of our systems and services. I know many of these people personally, and I have spoken with most of them at least once or twice since they signed up.

Regarding how it converts etc. Without revealing too much it helps people achieve higher results in the specific field, outweighing the costs of the subscription by a LOT. Therefore it sold very well the first time and I am sure it will be even better this time around. But I need professional insight on how to launch a successful affiliate campaign, or even if it is worth it. If you have ways to promote this service then PM me, and we could work out something for the future.

Apart from this we are doing B2B sales, so you could expect to see us around for many years to come if you are dealing in this field. Real people doing real sales in the real world. Not a "How to get rid of acne" ebook, and with according pay.
