Places to find REAL quality outsourced content writers?

I need content writers and am happy to pay a premium for it. The challenge I feel is that a lot of "content writers" are just good at using AI and basically try and fob me off with semi-ok content.

I've used iWriter (ok-ish) and am now trying UpWork - but can anyone chime in with solid platforms that deliver genuinely good copy at good prices - duplicate free etc? Escrow as ever is the key here...

Also! How much would you expect to pay for say 1,500 words? I am thinking 200 USD of there about; I need them to use CognitiveSEO so there's extra work I guess

Upwork is fine to use, but there's no platform where quality people fall in your lap. Use the Invite function and search for good candidates.

Quality writers start at $0.05 per word

Is 0.05 cents a word considered industry-standard?

Content mills/agencies are full of shit, all of them. They peddle garbage, no matter what level, or how much you pay them you'll always get garbage in my opinion. The only way to get good content is to find people who know their shit, or people who are smart and willing to work/put in the research (very hard to find people like that - again, most writers are just full of shit).

I recruit writers through LinkedIn or niche forums. They're not really writers, as in they have never written before but I can tell they can write by their commentary in the forum or their LinkedIn profile/messages. It is a bit of work upfront but it will save you from low tier content mill garbage.

I think you're totally right. It's easy to spin content and sell it on to unsuspecting client's
 
That a good budget.

I've found amazing writers for $100/1k words on ProBlogger job board. You will get 100's of applications and it will take time finding a good one.
