Dammit, about 2-days ago there's this customer who bought my Clickbank product.
She first said she couldn't download my product from my "Thank You page".. and she opened a ticket and asked for a refund. Of course, I tried to assist her by helping her problem. But she did not reply at all.
So I just e-mailed her with my materials attached, and yet she did not reply. I even attached a free ebook as a compensation for it.

Then she manage to download it and then she started complaining that she can't view the document. She said all she sees is boxes of rectangles and boxes. And I did ask this question in BHW for help.

Of course, I tried to assist her further by trying to find the solution online.. then I e-mailed her asking if she is using a Mac or PC. She finally replied me after hours of waiting that she is using Mac.

I later found out that Mac compters doesn't have the "Times New Roman" font installed by default. My document is written with Times New Roman...
Unfortunately, it was hours before my school starts so I have no choice but to reply at a later time (and yes, my school network admin blocked multiple ports therefore I can't access my webhost).

When I reached home, I immediately edit my whole document and change it to Arial font which is viewable in Mac. I changed everything and e-mailed back her confidently and proudly that the problem was definitely solved.

And just this morning when I woke up for school, she e-mail me with a fucked-up subject.

    Subject: Not Satisfied
Body: You can't even solve my problem, I want a refund immediately to my paypal.

I know customers are right most of the time, but after assisting her so much and I got that fucked-up e-mail... I was so pissed.
Of course, I did refund her the money. But I'm seriously pissed about that.

Not over the money... rather by that reply.

Anyone ever encounter such fucked-up customers?

Yeah, I agree with you Alex.

The weird thing is... she has her own domain!
her e-mail was like: me@blackseng.com (assuming blackseng is my name).

She later used a free e-mail service provider - AOL.

I was kinda suspicious with that, or maybe just a custom domain with e-mail service.

Jeez, I tried to give her a top-notch customer service but she doesn't want to cooperate with me. Argh!

I agree with this statement. People will always try to get your digital products for free.

There's not a heck of a lot you can do about it honestly

Just FYi, I have that problem on my MacBook Pro with PDF's I d/l. Preview (default app) shows little boxes. Adobe Acrobat (I have Pro 9, but free version should work) open the PDF's and display just fine.

Thanks for this. You made me aware of a condition to which I was previously oblivious.

I have added REP for you as thanks for saving us from this headache in future.

Who'da though MAC would not have one of the basic 5 fonts? Jeeze.

Anyway, I will be testing my pdf's with a MAC test group from now on!!!

Also, I will be building an HTML page "somewhere" with all the same data
as a failsafe for those who claim they cannot read it.

NOTE: I already put the AFTER SALE CUSTOMER SERVICE email in the ebook
at the bottom, which is SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT than the one on the website.

I had one person try to refund stating they could not open the document.
I replied "The only place this email is found is within the document. If you
make a refund request now, you will be criminally investigated for fraud."

    Never heard from them again.

Thank you for the rep, Alex.

You're welcome And that's a nice plan you got there!

For me, what I did was in my thankyou page.. I did this:

Download (NAME OF eBOOK) for PC: Here
Download (NAME OF eBOOK) for MAC: Here

I just prefer Times New Roman, if you know what I mean.

Anyway, here's what I found from Googling for Default Mac Fonts:
    Code:
Those are Geneva (Geneva.dfont), Keyboard (Keyboard.dfont) and Lucida Grande (Lucida Grande.dfont).

OK guys, I have found the solution to ensure that whether is it a MAC user or a PC user they can view your PDF document.

Before you "print" out the pdf or create the pdf document, there's an option that allows you to EMBED fonts INTO the pdf. Just embed the fonts you've used into your pdf document!

    That is it!

Check out the latest update on the issue here:

Had a guy threaten my friends family (his name was posted as a comment on my business website from a long time ago and I guess the guy probably googled it) because his international shipment from eBay hadn't gotten there in 4 days.

Lots of other bad customer experiences with ebay customers, but that was the most aggravating one.
