They used to be real relaxed but recently they have been getting brutal! I could understand for blatent stuff like spamming group boards but I thought I was being a bit classy about it just keeping myself to myself in my own network of accounts.

They seem to have a trigger where my main account is still up but any account where I would try and repin from would get banned as soon as I repin from my main account. It would do a couple of pins then suddenly see one account after the other get booted. So it seems that main account has been turned into a honeypot.

I thought it was only my newer accounts but then my old ones started dropping like flies too I had to halt all operations. Code red!

Im gonna have to start right back from the ground up. That main account is pretty much nuclear now as any account that touches it seems to get destroyed.

Just a post to vent my displeasure.

Sorry for all your troubles. For our learning experience, are you scraping images from Pinterest? I believe that certain pics get scraped a lot because of popularity and Pinterest flags them so that any pins not linking to the original source is considered suspicious.

I've actually had the url changed on pins that I pinned myself from my site, which is just an amazon product. They were changed, seemingly automatically, to another URL for another site that is selling the product. My url was mysite.com/product_name/ and from there linked to amazon. It was automatically being changed to some other random retailer, still with my text under it. The images had been edited, not insignificantly, by me prior to uploading them to my site and then from my site to Pinterest.

I've been seeing something like this the past few months. I've had a handful of my original contents scraped. I track which websites are doing so. Some are blocked and some have reverted the links to my website. I'm guessing that Pinterest is trying various anti-spam measures to deal with scraping.

I'm just theorizing here, but a few things may need to happen before an image is marked as suspicious, such as a number of reports by users and/or a manual check by a rep. In other words, popular images with various pin source are not automatically disallowed. Too many memes out there to keep track off.

What this means to scrapers is the continuous search for newly popular images to repin without recycling old ones for fear of them being marked somehow.

I make my own content so I don't have these type problems. But I've been wanting to automate using scraped images like everyone else. I may have missed the window.

Somebody posted a video here with a guy from Pinterest, explaining what measures they take to combat spam - well worth watching IMO. And when you scrape images, shave off a pixel or two AND remove the metadata, otherwise you are taking a chance.

Don't have it, watched it probably a month ago. Try searching the Pinterest threads.

I really must be a lucky one. I have been following/unfollowing in batches of 20-50k at a time. All images are repins from someone else with my link changed in.

Just doing what any legit business would do. Getting rid of spammers and shit that damages their network...
I was surprised at how long they've been allowing "easy" spam. Obviously you'll always be able to crack through, but it was just retarded the level of spam acceptance they had.

Same here and I'm using a public bot.
So that's not the point, I also created 10 Accounts in the last month and have them running only on repins.

Are you able to link w/ aff codes? Cos I thought Pinterest had taken care of that a last year. Remember how they were caught changing the aff codes to theirs and received some bad PR?

Ofc not, use a redirector (not 301 or 302 directly)
