    Hey,

I'm running Awareness campaigns on Pinterest from last two days and I kept $20 budget a day and ran it for two days.

    So first day: -

$19.97 spend and CPM was $ 2.30 and got something around 8,664 impressions, also got 141 total engagements out of which got 41 clicks so total CTR is just 0.47%.
    CPC = $ 0.49
    Only 4 saves
    Total Closeups 96
    Earned impressions 10
    Earned CTR 0
Other than this all earned is 0

    Is it a waste?

    upload_2018-9-22_11-0-5.png

    OVERALL!
    Spend - $ 48.50
    Total engagements - 488
    Total impressions - 24,919
    Engagement rate - 1.89%
    Avg eCPM - $ 1.95

By this paid campaign I'm not so happy what I'm doing wrong.

(I want to drive traffic from Pinterest on my etsy store to get sales) but I think this one liner which I want is going to take lot of efforts can anyone is getting what wrong I'm doing?

I am yet to use Pinterest ads. I will be soon though for our POD businesses.

When it comes to Pinterest and Etsy it's a match made in heaven. However that does all depend on the products you are promoting. If they are primarily for the demographic of Pinterest which is middle aged women then you should be fine.

I drive a lot of traffic to Etsy from Pinterest using apps to set up thousands of scheduled pins at a time. I pin them to large etsy or etsy related boards and the rest happens by itself. For the money you are spending you could be paying for a subscription to an app like tailwind and then using that to set up a ton of pins. Once they are set up you can walk away for a month or two and come back just to set up more.

What are margins like on the products you sell? there are several features within etsy that can be automated to generate traffic. you just need to set up some jitbit imacros to speed things up and you can generate thousands of clicks every day within Etsy. However a word of warning, sending lot of traffic to niche items can do more harm than good on Etsy if you dont make too many sales.

These threads might help you too.

If you're talking about the ads to drive traffic to Etsy - I would rather invest in Facebook ads
I have own women related publisher sites and I get traffic from Pinterest, but as Wiliiam mentioned - I get it via pins.

I had a pretty successful FB to Etsy experience and sold $5k shoes, though they were hand-made and I had more headache then profit

Did you have to make the shoes yourself? Despite the profit, that sounds like a LOT of work!

William702 method of ranking organic is legit - but it takes 3-5 months if you have a new account.

In the meantime, I've dabbled with Pinterest ads. I think it's great for e-commerce. I'd just experiment with your bids - don't go by the Pinterest recommended bid! Experiment. It might take a few iterations.

Also, how is your content? I basically take viral IG posts in my niche, pin them on my board (while tagging the IG user for credit). Then I use these posts as my "pin" for promotions. I haven't tried infographics but I bet those will do well as they take up a lot of ad space.

    @William702, thanks for the info.
just one question, any experience sending traffic from pinterest to amazon? would free traffic work or PPC (I know you did you start yet); free traffic with the method you mention, would it work to amazon (sorry did not have time to read all your threads)? so far I have not done much in pinterest.

Personally no, but I have got a few clients that have used the service and one who purchases a monthly subscription so it must be working for him. I don't know the stats though so I have no idea if he is just building a brand and taking a hit or is actually getting a good ROI from it. I will be using them soon though and I will share my findings.

PPC principles are the same no matter what platform.

2 days is nothing. You need to learn that at least the first week that money will be gone, you will be buying data and split-test ads for that money. After that you analyze the statistics and start tweaking it to a perfect result.

Plenty of campaigns started losing in the beginning and still got great results in the long run.

That being said, that many engagement and zero conversions can be due to several reasons.

1 most of the engagements are bots
    2 offer/landingpage etc suck
3 with nr2 and targeting the wrong demographics

I see you trying to drive traffic to your etsy store what are you selling because I would never use pinterest for these kinds of things unless is a super in demand item, better to go with bing-ads or google ads.
