Hi, I have a competitor that is using ping backs to get ranked. His entire website has gained authority by junk links. The company is creating thousands of nofollow backlinks using what appears to be a ping back.

First, how does one create a pingback backlink without actually posting a link the site that you are trying to get a link to, because that appears to be the case for my competitor? Is that possible?

Second, is Google really ok with gaining authority in this way? It seems like that would be easy to detect.

You can use GSA Search Engine Rankers and set the filter to build only nofollow pingback links. Get in touch with someone already having an SER setup instead of buying the software.

WAT? First, how do you know he's ranking due to links? Second, you don't know because nofollow is essentially deleting the link from your PR link graph. It's like not having one at all. The only way it's beneficial is if it brings in referral traffic. Stop obsessing over things you don't understand.

You surely are assuming a lot of things. Don't believe Google's propaganda too much.

wat I'm not assuming anything. OP is assuming that nofollow pingbacks are responsible for competitor rank. He's wrong. Nofollow links don't count towards PR, so they are not a part of the link graph. The site owner isn't "gaming google" through nofollow links. He is ranking for other reasons.

also seeing competitors ranking with only pingbacks and trackbacks

boosts their entire site and all pages to first or second pages, and then they do additional seo if need be

    absolutely insane
