i am really sorry for asking this noobish question. well i am a noob only....

anyway my question is .what is pinging sites ?
i've read in many places like after rss submit we have to ping it....well RSS submit is ok but what's this "pinging" after submission.. please enlighten me somebody....

If you ping Google or other sites it means you are sending a message to tell them that your site has been updated/changed. It means the search engines are more likely to see your fresh content quickly.

www.pingler.com is a good site to use
