I have a question regarding pinging.
If you read stuff about WP pinging plug-ins, you will read person after person knowledgeably explain that WP has a bug and automatically pings too much, so you have to have a plug-in to fix it (Max Blog Press seems to be the best). Otherwise your site could get banned from the pinging services and places that receive pings.
Woah!
That sounds serious. I certainly don't want that to happen to me.
So I gotta get the plug-in.. Preferably buy the plug-in... Preferably for a hefty price... Preferably from one of those knowledgeable people...
Otherwise banished I will be...
Limbo, baby...
I get it.
But...
With all these knowledgeable people around displaying their technical expertise (and they are all over Google if you do a search), why don't they ever tell you how to verify if your site has been banned by a pinging service or place that receives pings?
So my question is: How can you check this?
Another question is: Supposing you do discover that your site has been banned from a pinging service or place that receive pings, how do you get it unbanned?
So far, the best I have had to go on is either (1) keep wondering or (2) look at the formations of chicken entrails on a deity-worship mat and go "Uga, Uga"...
If there is some knowledgeable person for real out there who can answer these doubts, I will be very grateful for your help.
