So I've been reading as much as possible on backlinking, and a lot of people say to add all the links to an rss feed and ping it like every 6 hours or so.

Couldn't I just mass ping all the sites directly and have the same effect?
Or is having all the urls in an rss beneficial?

    Thanks in advance for help.

that what you'r talking about, that is not backlinking!

that way you'r only indexing your site (telling search engines that you exist).
soon or a later they will index your page, don't push them that much, instead, go and make some backlinks.

    you know what backlinks are?

Agreed...Rss is more or less a live feed of your site. It works wonders when your site is new and you want Google to see that you've updated the site or to have the indexing spiders swing by and re crawl your site.

Also Rss is good for traffic is you have more of a follower type site for blogging, etc.

In the eyes of backlinking Rss is not really want you want to rely on since feeds don't actually build links back to your site...if that makes sense.

I really only use RSS feeds when I setup my new sites to get them indexed quickly. I ping the homepage, ping the rss feed, then setup my social bookmarking sites, and about 20 high pr do follow forum profiles.

Then Rss comes back into play again when ever you add new content to your site and your feed is spread out over a large number of social sites like facebook, twitter, etc.

I figure out ways to make money online and then au
Making an RSS feed of your backlinks and then pinging it is mainly used as a method to get your backlinks spidered more quickly and thoroughly. You could also just directly ping all the urls where you dropped your link and it would have much the same effect. Many types of links eg. shitty profile links don't get spidered or indexed that easily. Pinging an RSS feed is a bit more resource efficient because you're only sending one ping rather than thousands.
