PICS-Freelancer.com are THIEVES. They stole 200 USD from my account, and I need your help.

    What course of action do I take for this?
    I had a job on freelancer.
    This person funded the job for 200 USD (Sitting in escrow in a milestone)
    3 weeks later jobs completed, and the money is released to my account.
    About 3 days later I login to see they stole the money from my account.
    I already used these funds to pay for another project, so now I'm out 400.

    Bump for suggestions how to get freelancer to pay me my money.
    It's just fkn 200 usd, but still its the principle. I am not down with a company just getting away with stealing.

    No wonder those guys bought Warrior Forum.

    They're probably buying some WSOs with your money and trying to figure out how to make money with that forum they've bought.

    All in all, that's fucking unbeliavable and unaccetable behaviour from them... Not sure how you can get your money out, but maybe send queries to lawyers operating in the same jurisdiction as they are and ask if that has grounds for a case. If nothing else, they could at least send Freelancer's assholes a threatening letter to try and scare them.

    OP I think they got rich stealing money from people. I was a member on that site some 4-5 years ago and I remember they started billing my new account and saying how I owe them money (it was $20-ish or something like that) even though I didnt have any kind f premium account, never worked there and never hired anyone. They repetedly asked for my CC data to bill me and I made sure not to provide them that cause I knew they are trying to scam me.

    I heard your story hundreds of times, it is happening over and over again.

    Freelancer.com is a joke. The most flawed system you'll ever find. Totally moronic support. I was working on there for a last couple of years and made about $20K in sales. Once they closed my account for no reason at all. I contacted support and I was getting same response (every time from different staff member) over and over again which made 0 sense. Literally one of them say "provide me with scanned id", and then, 6 days later another one contact me and say "can you please send us your scanned id". You wouldn't believe it. Like I was talking to cleverbot. (Brian is best support ever compared to them back then)

    In the end, after about 3 weeks they unblocked my account and I withdraw my money, but I must be really crazy to work on that site again.

    As for yourself, you can say bye to your $200. Next time work on Elance/UpWork.

    That's crazy. I've used freelancer for nearly a decade and never experienced anything like this.

    It's especially frustrating right now, my fiancee and I have just purchased our first home, and literally put everything we have in to getting it. I'm literally saving for first months payment, and don't have enough yet. I can't take any hits like this right now.

    If you google "freelancer stole my money" I'm not the first to experience it, luckily mine wasn't as costly as others. But wow, how can such a large company operate this way?
    Even IF they are in the right, I have over 50 jobs on their site, 5 star perfect rating, have paid thousands in project fees / monthly membership costs. How at this point do they not cover this damage as a thanks for everything I've done for their company. It's incredible.

    Freelance.com is a scam, i have heard this a view times from people that do work for me that i hired from Odesk, (Upwork) people should stay away from freelance.com cus they are scammers.
