Known that method since I was a kid. Good if you want to keep
the lock intact to replace it otherwise a good whack with a club hammer
    has the desired affect.

How is he doing this? I was not able to see what he was actually doing to pick it.

Orrrrr. Just bring a pair of bolt cutters, 2 seconds later the lock is open. :p Crafty though if it's legit.

a club hammer and cutters would alert the owner to the fact someone has been in their stuff.

I NEED to learn how do this ^^^

I go through at least 4 sets of keys (minimum) per year. Drives my family nuts.

Once I dropped my last set (lost mulitple sets of spares) down a stormwater drain as I was getting into my car. Had to stay with the kids overnight in a random location and then devise a way of fishing them out in the morning because I had no money to change all the locks in the house, and no way of driving my car without damaging it. Took about 35 mins of fishing in really smelly gunk.
