I have a website that is making me about 20$/day on complete auto pilot, It is a EMD and ive made the website in febuary ever since all i do is do a quick 10 min touchup on it every first of the month to update the dates and whatnot but other then that never touched it.

Its ranked #1 for a 8k exact match keyword and ranked on top of second page for another 9k exact match.

Anyone know how much i can sell this for? Thanks!

I would say you could get away with selling it for around $2000-$3000.

In determining the value of a business, the annual earnings are taken into consideration. If my memory serves correctly (it's been a few years since I was in business school), you can multiple annual earnings by 2x or 3x to determine a fair market value of your website.

When selling a money maker, whether it is a business, website, race horse or whatever, always keep in mind present and future value of earnings as well as (especially in a case like this) growth rate. Your website is only 3 months old and is already pulling in auto income at (what I assume) is a growing rate. To sell it for less that what it will earn you over the course of a year is shorting yourself UNLESS you feel that you can duplicate niche websites like this easily and quickly.

If you need quick money, why don't you look to someone on here (or anywhere for that matter) to enter into a JV with you and ask them to put in $3000 for 50% of the website. The return on investment for them will be less than a year and from then on they're in auto income.

    Just an idea.

    Good luck!

I'm no expert, but I believe that websites' earnings aren't calculated that high (32x monthly earnings). Most of the times you will be happy if you manage to sell for 1 year worth of revenue.
Most websites are too unstable to be worth that much. There are a few exceptions though (a good forum might reach that kind of values), or premium websites like meathead1234 sells.

Im interested, I sent you PM. RuiGomes is right, the BEST and most STABLE sites will get around a years rev if your the lucky, very lucky. Typically I see sites sell for less tho, especially in these panda/penguine slap happy times.

Probably $2-$3k for a site with minimal history like this. Would probably sell well on Flippa.

At 10x monthly earnings you're looking at about $5k. With limited history, you can expect 50-75% of that assuming the site is legit and legal.

Thanks for the info guys, that JV idea is actually a really good one, i like it , im willing to take in a JV with the site and give 50% of it if anyone is interested.

Also the website is still #1 for its main keyword after the google update.

You guys think i should just keep it ? Selling it for less then 3k would honestly be a really bad deal for me since its just a 5 month profit. The problem is i have bills to pay =x lol.

ll it is what it is. I understand you have bills to pay, but a buyer could care less about your problems. I would keep the site if it were mine. Your stated revenues are good. Work out a decent payment plan on your bills and let the site pay them.

Agree! $6-7k+ a year is a good little earner... especially since you put in so little effort every month to maintain..

    I would (in your situation)..

    a) Spend more than 1 day a month on it & make more cash

    b) Repeat your success with other websites, shouldn't be too hard since you have done it once :)

    c) Get a short or long term loan on the website? if you are looking to sell, you will be losing $680 a month in exchange for a lump sum, so instead, get a lump sum as a loan & lose your $680 a month paying it back.. this way when your loan is over you have had your lump sum + keep your site!

Although C is risky with things like the stability of your site, personal circumstances & interest taking some of your lump sum etc.. if i was in no doubt it would be making me 600 a month for the next 12 months i would at least consider a loan where my 12 monthly repayments would be around 500-600 a month :)

    d) Get someone to invest! for a % of the business..

    Good luck! :)

I too would probably keep the website. Selling it off so soon is sort of defeating the purpose I think.

Believe me, when the medicines are ready to be refilled, you sell what you can, and scrape where you can. I feel for you, sir. Keeping the website is your best bet, but if you have to sell, keep a nest egg to make the next 3 or 4 with.

The best option is to let the site get revenue for you. Otherwise you will lose a golden egg laying hen if you sale it out.
