another bad ass feature: content-aware fill

"One of the biggest requests we get of Photoshop is to make adding, removing, moving or repairing items faster and more seamless. From retouching to completely reimagining an image, heres an early glimpse of what could happen in the future when you press the delete key. How might you use this new capability in your workflow? "

this new CS5 will be a very nice toy! :)

I saw a demonstration of this in 2001 during a CES show.. cool stuff, and if Adobe licenses the technique, who knows what they can do with it.

Just so you all know, this is NOT NEW.. It's been out over 9 years (gizmoto reported it in 2007, I saw the exact same video demo in CES of 2001). The plugin they are talking about is probably sitting on somebodies website waiting for you to grab it.

    It is very cool indeed.

I watched CS5's content fill earlier and just about creamed.
It will cut down my editing time by a lot! The earlier versions' heal brushes made me want to break my screen when editing near shadows.

Not sure if you're talking about the smart fill or the other, but if it is the smart fill you're on about and you are refering to the Image Doctor Smart Fill plugin, this appears to be far far more powerful.

It was this video that I saw... thinking about it though, it was not 2001, it was the 2006 / 2007 show I think. In 2001 I saw something similar, but not quite the same.

When I was at these guys booth, i hovered over their demonstration laptops and tested various images from around the net and have to say I was very excited. I loved being able to remove objects from the photos, as well as the smart scale. Since then I have not heard a word from them, so am not sure what ever happen.
