    Ok. Here's the deal.

I found a ad about some company which is looking for a models. I applied to them and sent them 6 photos of myself.
In my town bitches consider me as a good looking guy and even one time a gay guy walked up to me in the club and ask if I'm single cuz he's horny just by looking at me.

    Anyway... back to the topic..

So I got a responce that the company "Edgerton Models" is interested to do few photosessions with me paying $500 for 4h session.

Now I don't know how that industry works and how big are the prices but this is not the deal. The deal is that they request a one time payment for the first session which costs $70..

They gave me their bank account number and in the title (here things are getting fishy) they want my "full name (ok....) / McLaren Models (WTF?)"

I've searched the web for those tow companies and non of them exists...

    So whats the catch?

Anybody knows is this legit? or just a pure scam but if that would be a scam they wouldn't give me their bank account number.

What are your thoughs about this guys?

    Pure scam.

Seen it reported a hundred times, they'll take your $500 and walk. You might get a few shit photos if your lucky.

You should never have to pay for a photo shoot as a model. If an agency truly believes you've got what it takes they will pay for the photos, because they know they'll get it back. (Plus, you not being able to find a trace of the companies online should really set some alarm bells off!!)

They usually claim that your payment to them is for your training as a model, but it is a scam. I don't know about these companies but I remember a friend in high school being suckered into one of these.

Thank you for your responce. I found out that the same ad is posted on many other adwertising sites in diffrent town on the other side of the country. But this is quite stupid becouse they are giving their bank account number so this is a simple way to report the to the police and to the bank.

So this is quite stupid but....... I started role play with them and I've sent them an email that my bank is closed today and I can't make the payment and I would like to get the phone number and agency addres :)

I wonder how they will respond :)

Nice little scam cuz I've seen over 100 responces to that ad and if they get a payment from everybody that is a nice $7k right there.

If you want to be a model you need to apply to as many agencies you can find. They all have a link on their homepage with some type of instructions on how to do it. Those who don't ask for any money at any stage of the process are the legit ones.

Now unless your looks are really very special, you must be at least 6' (~183 cm) tall and under 20. Otherwise you won't even be considered. You may try to cheat your way in but any half-decent photographer can guess your real height by looking at proportions in a full body photo so they won't even invite you to a mass photo shooting.

    Addendum:
Forgot to mention, you don't have to do it only with local agencies. You can try companies anywhere in the world. If they like you, they will fly you in (again, at no cost for you).

Well I'm 22 and 193cm so I should be considerd to be a model.. Also many people tell me that I look like I'm 26-29 so this is always very strange to me hehe :p But anyway.. after my investigation I discoverd that this is a pure scam :) Non of the agencies request a payment before the photo session.
