I am currently running a few facebook ads - I am not running the usual ad where you upload a picture and write in text. I am running "Post" ads where it uses a post I have already made.

The reason I am doing this is because the facebook ad system formats the "post" ads differently than regular page ads and you can get more real estate as well as a different eye catching layout than a regular page ad. The targeting is for people not already connected to my page fyi

My question is this - If they click on the photo and are taken to the post and they like the post - does it automatically make them like the page? do they still need to then click out of the post, scroll up, and hit like on the page?

Here are my current stats and a pic. That breaks down as following:

    60 photo views
    15 photo likes
    9 page likes
    1 page post share

I am showing a crazy good CTR but I guess I am wondering if this is showing only having 9 page likes from the ad is it still worth it or are the views and likes on the post kinda pointless. Just seems to be a bit confusing when it shows 85 actions - yet only 9 are actual page likes..

I suggest you to avoid facebook ads, because you will not get likes as you wanted. Try to contact some admin of big pages via Message Option, dealing with them to make some paid shares, it will help.

    Regards.

Thank you for replying....but i beg to disagree with you. The niche is am working with is a local nitch relevant to my county (yes county) only. the ads are hyper targeting only to my location. Even including the money spent on these ads that im asking questions about the amount spent compared to the friends i am gaining comes out to be about 5 cents per like recieved. On the other ads i am running i am getting a 2.7% CTR and i am getting over 75% of the people who click liking the page. My area only has 60k people in it. Its now starting to go a bit viral in our area and i have over 1k hypetargeted friends and have spent less than 50 bucks.

I have a similar problem when trying to gain page likes, I post a custom image asking for a like and that post/image gets lots of likes but the actual page gains none. You need to specifically write and ask them to like the actual page, even then you will still end up with lots of likes on the post itself. Try publishing a post to your page with a specific call to action to like the page and then using that as the promo post maybe?

Yeah, I actually tried that. What is cool about promoting posts is that you can change the text caption on the image/post you are promoting and it automatically updates it in the ad...wihtout have to resubmit the ad or even touch it! It is kind of a backdoor. Get it approved with one thing and then change it.
Mine specifically says to like the page...still getting mixed results though.

Glad you understand me though Hootz :)

Also like that you can spend way less money and get a way better result too.
