I am looking to get a 1-800 or 1-888 number to take phone orders. Does anyone know where I can rent a service for this?

Or what is the best way to take phone orders?

I can highly recommend setting up an http://www.answeramerica.com/ account setting up so your secretary picks up sometimes and then pushes to "sales" and sales is always going to be busy and quickly leave a message that is sent to your email.

    Low prices and efficient

Yeah, I have heard about these. The only problem is that it isnt very good customer service. When building a business you need to have good customer service or you arent going to get far IMO.

If they have an automated message system where callers can place there orders through the automation (kinda like paying any bill nowadays) that would be acceptable to start.

I just dont want to have like 200 people call my number to order something and lose sales because they cant speak with someone through the 1-800 number. There must be some way companies provide 1-800 customer service orders in a customer friendly way.

    Anyone know anything?

There are live answering services. Patlive is one of the bigger operations. However, it's not cheap. I think Patlive costs around $3 per call. They're not the best sales people, but they are competent enough to process orders after a sale has been made.

Winchester suggested AnswerAmerica because it's much cheaper and does nearly what you want it to do. You say that good customer service is an important part of building a business. While this is true, would you consider that making money is equally important (if not moreso)? Make sure that you're spending your limited time and money on the things that customers need the most.
