Phantom Drone Detained by Customs

    Hi Guys,

    I ordered a drone which got detained by Customs in my country! I tried a lot but its not possible to get it now!

    So I wanted to know if there is any chance I can get my money back from where I purchased the drone? I paid the extra fee to pay the insurance! Also, Another mistake that the company did from where I bought the drone is they sent wrong invoice along (Invoice which is 90% less than the actual amount).

    Is filing a dispute through PayPal a good idea? Any way I can get my money back?

    Contact them about your situation. See what they want to do about it .

    Maybe you can contact customs about it but I'm not sure as I have never had a problem with that .

    In my opinion if the company I bought it from won't do anything about it and customs won't release it I would make a paypal dispute

    Try to be honest to custom agents, if they dont allow item to enter your country, ask them politely to return to sender.

    Then ask sender to return your money ( not including shipping fees ) here is your dispute.

    Thing honestly who,s fault is this problem, if is customs then try to accept losses by 50/50 you and seller.

    Normally, I think it is down to the purchaser to ensure that anything ordered is not prohibited and likely to be seized by customs.

    The first two answers you got to the thread are really all you can try.

    Did you ask them to mark down the invoice by 90% to avoid custom duties then have your item confiscated for attempting to circumvent the system? I haven't done business with them but I doubt that dji would just be marking down invoices without reason. If the invoice was sent without your request/permission, and your item seized for that reason, contact the company, if they say no, go to paypal or let them know you'll be disputing it in paypal.

    Paying "insurance" doesn't cover customs usually. Check the terms. Also, "the company sent a 10% value invoice on their own" is the same like "I'm asking about herpes for a friend". We all know what happened :)

    First thing is to contact customs. If the item is prohibited, you are practically screwed. They're not going to send it back, they'll leave it there and it will get "destroyed" after 90 days or whatever the retaining period is in your country. On the other hand, if the customs just want you to pay to release it, suck it up and pay.

    They sent the order with the smaller invoice with good faith so I think it won't be reasonable to dispute this transaction? Obviously they never took the permission from me but they have it mentioned in the FAQs that they sometimes lower the invoice amount to avoid taxations and customs!

    & Im wondering what the hell is a stripper school student doing over bhw!
    Yes, I have started to consider that the money is gone!

    Yes, Im looking up with them but they are asking for too much time! First they told me to wait for a week and then they started ignoring my messages and just now they told me that I'll have to wait another two weeks!

    I've imported a lot of Chinese tech in the past and they almost always massively reduce the invoice, which is ok as I have full buyer protection, like you said, with paypal.

    Your best bet is to file a dispute with them, or contact customer support.

    So did you paid full price for the item and they lowered the price in the invoice sent with the package ?

    So can you get a letter from them showing the correct price and that it was an error?
