What do you think about this couple?
Is it possible to estimate their earnings?

Do you think is ALSO matter of luck to be that famous?

Of course luck has something to do with it, same as always, but they must have a solid business strategy from what I've seen. Personally, they both come off as annoying to me.

PewDiePie's fame is due in part to his wealth prior to his YouTube channel's success. You see, his father is the Vice President of an international clothing company called KappAhl in Sweden. Because PewdiePie had the money to travel around and upload his videos from a different location each time, he was able to (possibly unknowingly) manipulate YouTube's system, allowing his videos to rank highly internationally rather than rank highly only in Sweden.

PewDiePie's demographics also consist of impressionable children and immature emerging adults who will watch his videos for hours, meaning that all of his videos have a high retention rate, which is another factor in YouTube's algorithm. Add that in with the money he probably received from daddy to promote his YouTube channel, his foreign accent (which Americans love), and his eccentric demeanour in his videos and you have yourself a YouTube celebrity.

I don't know much about Mariza, but I'm going to guess that she's just leeching off of PewDiePie's subscribers. Sure, she gets plenty of views from women who are looking for beauty and fashion tips, but I'm certain that many of her viewers are just 13 year old boys from PewDiePie's channel wondering why they "get with that" while they're screaming into their microphones playing Call of Duty or Destiny.

As for the other questions, he supposedly donates half of his earnings to charity, and considering people mention that he donates up to $1 million each year, I'm going to assume he makes $2 million based off of that (it may be true, it may not be true). I also don't care much for their content so I try to stay away from it.

Im sure pewdiepie makes more then 2 millions, you can lokup their earnigns on social blade, I know it isnt accurate but it gives you a range.

He probably has a $5-10 CPM. Say he gets 10 million views on a video thats about and using a $7.50 CPM, he would earn 75,000 of one video.

In 2013, he made over $4 million from ad revenue. He released an interview to a business magazine (Wall Street Journal) about his earnings, so someone asked on his Facebook page: "Did you really earn $4 million last year" and he replied: "It's roughly what I made in 2013 yes". I think at that stage people were very surprised he was getting millions just to play and post videos, I think this is due to the fact teenagers doesn't care about that, they just watch videos and have "fun" without know what there is behind it.

At first I thought: "I wonder how many hours every day he spends every time to post a video", but I noticed he posts more than a video daily, so how is possible to complete the editing part that fast?

I'm a pretty big gamer, but I never watched PewDiePie's videos. I didn't like his face, probably...

Which brings me to another point. Because YouTube saw how much PewDiePie was attracting attention and making them money, YouTube began boosting PewDiePie's content intentionally to increase his following so that YouTube could make more money. YouTube did this by auto-subscribing new YouTube accounts to his channel and also by giving his channel a spotlight through the recommend videos and channels listings on the front page. This led to PewDiePie being able to easily and unfairly (as I'm sure some YouTubers may call it) usurp Jenna Marbles and Smosh as the most subscribed channel on YouTube.

If you've never heard of them, it doesn't mean they're not famous. You were not around when they became famous.

Of course, it just means that they are not really "that" famous. I have been around on the internet well before YouTube, and probably own pairs socks older than PewDiePie, just never heard of him, but then again I am not one who spends my life watching crap on YouTube, I mostly only use it for my own videos for my websites.

Edit: Just a quick Google search and yeah now I see why I have never heard of him, I am not 11 years old. It would be somewhat like me knowing all the presenters names on Nickelodeon.

He looks like a good guy. Really nice from him to donate half of is money to charities, he probably knows that he got lucky and he had the opportunity to do what he did with his dad's money.

This just shows how a original idea can lead you to make millions upon millions a year. I don't care if his videos are for brainless 13 years old, he's a good example.
