Haha you wrote 966 words to answer 2 line questions, i bet you're a good writer

If i were you i won't invest my money in content, just write content yourself when you are free to do so
keep it up :)

I don't have autism but I have the other two. :D
I'm even more long-winded when talking than in writing, believe it or not.

But yeah, I'm happy to write my own content for now and probably for quite a while yet to come. I have started to follow some niche blogging journies online where people have half a dozen blogs or more that they keep up by hiring writers. I know if you do it well, there can be very good money in that. I think everyone I've read so far has admitted that early on they tried buying affordable content and it was really crappy, or that they had to buy a few articles from a ton of people before finding just one or two writers who they wanted to keep paying to make them more content, because high quality content from hired writers is hard to find. The philosophy of focusing on high quality content has worked well for me so far. So if I were to ever try to scale, I'd want to be prepared to throw some money down the drain before I would likely find a good writer to keep paying. I'm just not there yet.

Yesterday and today (oct 23 and 24) I requested indexing for my blog posts which haven't yet been indexed. 17 posts total, out of 33 that I've published. I don't know if it's because this blog is so new or what but the slow indexing is frustrating. It seems like indexing time on my other blog has slowed as well.

I also set up an RSS to email newsletter, added a bio in my sidebar that links to my 'about' page, added social media buttons and am about to add a sign-up form in the sidebar for people to subscribe via email. This stuff is all incredibly early as my traffic is extremely minimal still...but I'd rather have them in place too early rather than too late, I guess.

Oct 2021 update, month 4.

Blog posts: 34 total, 7 new in October.
Total pageviews: 105. (up 33 vs Sept)
Total users: 66 (up 19 vs Sept)

Aquisition: 61% organic search, 25% direct, 12% social, 1.5% referral.

Social media:
Facebook followers: 0
Twitter followers: 23 (0 new)
Pinterest followers: 0
Instagram followers: 97 (82 new)

I had aimed to get 8 posts up this month but only managed 7. I get really busy with one of my other blogs during November and December, so I missed the last post of October for this blog due to dedicating more time to the other blog. I expect to not get much new content up on this blog the next 2 months, unfortunately.

Still not really seeing much of anything happening with my search rankings which stinks. My posts have been slow to index, so I did request indexing manually and that helped some. I saw about 5 new pages indexed after requesting them.

I have been really quite specific with a lot of my topics, aiming for very low competition posts so far. I'm thinking with my next posts I might try to cover some more mid size or big topics.

It's been a super long time!
Sorry.
My dad died in January. He had cancer for a long time but it was still hard a the end and of course, grief is hard, too. With this pet blog not bringing in any income for me, I definitely got put on the backburner for a while. But, I've been making time for it again.

March was month #9 for this blog, so we'll be coming up on a year this summer. I can't deny that I'm not seeing what I had hoped, from this blog. It isn't even a fraction of the results I saw from my other niche blog at this stage. But, I knew that a breed-specific niche blog would be a smaller audience, and also had more competition. So I didn't expect this blog to do as well as my other blog...but, I am still bummed that t's basically not getting traffic really at all, still. I'm not giving up on it though, so I'll keep on updating!

November traffic: 58 sessions, 83 pageviews.
December traffic: 77 sessions, 86 pageviews.
January traffic: 128 sessions, 154 pageviews...according to GA. But 52 of those were all in 1 day, and showed up as 'direct' traffic so I think it was some sort of spam. So I'd guess the true numbers are something more like 76 sessions.
February traffic: 56 sessions, 71 pageviews.
March traffic: 66 sessions, 82 pageviews.
April so far (1s-15th) 31 sessions, 39 pageviews.

I didn't post anything new in November or December.
January: 2 new posts
February: 3 new posts
March: 7 new posts.
April: 3 new posts so far.

My total post count right now is 49.

I am trying to experiment a little with covering bigger topics, I may have chosen longtail keywords that are too longtail? I am also trying to stay away from health or medical-related topics more. I've never attempted any topics that are outright medical like...how to cure a (Dog breed) UTI or anything like that. But I have tried topics related to sleep or "(dog breed) acing strange" which I thought may have been too close to medical. I'm not sure.

A teeny tiny sign of hope is that my # of impressions (and even my clicks) is trending in the right direction on google search console. It's just still such a small number.
