    Hi fellow Blackhatters,

Curious to know people's opinion regarding website choice for an offline SEO business. I already own a website for personal promotion (and to practice web design) - I'm at a turning point where I have to decide between creating a separate corporate website for the SEO services or have dedicated service pages on my existing personal website.

Thank you in advance for your input

That is a no brainer - business site that is not associated with your personal site.

    Same with a FB page.
    Same with a Twitter Account.
    Same with phone number.
Same with <insert anything else your business would typically have>

    Thanks for the quick reply.

In my mind, it wasn't such a no brainer because I could somewhat latch on to an existing personal brand - and use my existing contacts (e.g., on facebook) to get some initial customers. I'm curious why you recommend no assosciation with the personal site at all? Assume that the potential business would be greyhat-ish

I guess "no association at all" was poorly worded. What you want to do is to build your business as a business; sure people will know you personally, and you want that most of the time, but you want to set up a business as an entity all unto itself.

Co-mingling your personal site with your business will not give you the same professional appearance as if you were to set up a business entity and give it all it's own properties.

I would most certainly invite your personal FB people to your FB page for your Biz so they can see it, become fans, etc but you do not want to conduct business on your personal page just like you would not want clients to swing by your living room while you are hanging out with your family.
