With breadcrumbs and schema in-tact, how strong do you think your permalink structure should be for blogs with multiple archives/post types?

For example;

blog.com/blog/category/blog-post
blog.com/products/category/product

I'm currently pushing for /location/category/service-type/service(I've got blog.com/category/product/, but does it really matter if you've got a nice navigation set-up?

I'm happy to leave as is and just link and build out the archive pages then hook them up...

ACF & archives = headache if you're a silly goose

A tiny part of the overall website on-page, a small good addition for UX,
There are a ton of websites ranking with random unstructured permalinks,
You can keep all of the pages/posts under '/page-name' and they will rank with no problem,

Internal links (navigational+contexutal) have a way greater influence over the website silo & ranking,
Even BHW is ranking for bunch of non-SEO stuff while keeping everything under '/seo/' :D

It seems like permalinks have a minor effect on SEO these days, as long as you maintain a consistent structure that makes sense.

It can be nice to use a structure like /location/category/service-type/service which make your URLs more clear for users, but if implementing it will require a lot of work while you have many other tasks to focus on, I’m not sure it should be your top priority, since category/product/ is good enough.

If your breadcrumbs and schema are in good shape, as you mentioned, it seems like you are already set to go. With or without a new permalink structure.
