    Hi all,

need your advice. I run a twitter bot to tweet on a VPS. I use shared proxies, but when I schedule like 1000 tweets I only get around 400 tweets posted. Most of the time I get network connect errors. Is the reason for this that I use shared proxies and could I get better results with dedicated proxies?

    thx
    Eric

Yes. Use dedicated proxies. Shared proxies are used by so many people and will run into network failures most at times. That's why most of your tweets failed to post.

Mostly This type of porblem arises due to shared proxies and slow speed net, number of people use shared proxies at a time and it result's to network failure problem using dedicated proxies is definately a good solution for this.

Try in the proxy for sale section or squid proxy or a simple search on G will do.

A second solution will be to buy a private list and test the proxy before using it.

Lol, you guys are funny. You do NOT automatically need dedicated proxies. It sounds like you just need some better quality proxies, or a better authorization method. I don't mess with Twitter, so I'm not sure what you mean by network connection errors exactly. I would test the proxies first to make sure they're all alive, and online. If they are not, then I'd contact support immediately and ask them to replace all of the dead ones. It sounds like a bunch of your proxies weren't connecting, either because they weren't auth'd properly, or because they're flat out offline, either way, your supplier should be able to work that out for you.

If you find that all the proxies are working perfectly as they should, then chances are it's an IP problem, and in that case you probably would want to go for dedicated proxies. Usually when I here netowrk errors I tend to think that that is happening before you connect to the site itself, so that's why I recommend alive checking them first, but like I said, I've not messed with Twitter really. They may be throwing back a network error when you go to post because the IP is shot, and in that case, you would want to get some dedicated proxies so that you're the only one using them at that time. You still need them to work with Twitter, and some idiot could've gotten the IP blacklisted before you, but usually if you let the people know what you're using them for you can get proxies that'll work ok for what you're doing.

    Hi guys,
so I used now dedicated proxies. Not much changed at all. So the proxies doesn't seem to be the problem. My set up is as follows:
I run tweet supremacy with about 60 twitter accounts. I schedule mentions at an interval of every 15 minutes 16 tweets to a list of followers of a certain user. So I should get out 64 tweets per hour, for 16 hours, so around 960 tweets per account and day. In fact I only get 180 tweets out for one account (varies from account to account). Runs on VPS poweruphosting, 1 CPU, 2 GB RAM, nothing else is running. The tweets are different, I spinned it using special characters at least three per tweets. In my tweet list I have about 300 to 500 tweets, depends on the list I post.

I give you an example of one account:
    ACC 1:
    from 12.00 to 13.00 it tweeted 43
    from 13.00 to 14.00 it tweeted 44

    another day:
    from 7.30 to 9.00 was 68
    from 9.00 to 10.00 was 27

    another day:
    10.00 to 11.00 - 29
    11.00 to 12.00 - 14

So you can see although scheduled 64 per hour, it varies how many are posted. And that happens to all accounts I run with different numbers of tweets posted.

So I am really wonder where is the failure?

    Any hints highly appreciated!!

    thx
    Eric

I think I found the issue: When watching Tsupremacy in Resource monitor it frequently shows: Not responding. Sometimes it is responding then it sends out the tweets, then again not responding and so on. What can be the reason?
    thx
    Eric

So now I restarted Tsupremacy and only started one task, it posted 8 instead of 16 and then returned a 403 error from twitter. ????????

Seems to be solved: With my setup, 1 CPU, 2GB RAM I can only run 20 tasks parallel, otherwise software not responding.

The problem with shared proxies is mainly your passwords getting stolen. Use shared proxies for anonymous scraping, and some trustworthy proxy provider for your accounts.
