to those that have a high amount of twitter followers, do you use automated software to follow people? (i.e. tweet attacks). if so, are you not scared of getting suspended and losing your account? i'm scared to get a good amount of followers only for my account to get suspended if twitter finds out, which is likely.

I use TweetAttacks and I don't have any problems, but my twitter accounts are very focused, and I take it into small doses. For example, if you're in the health niche, follow people who follow athletes. If you're in the computer niche, follow the top tech guys. It depends what you're trying to promote, but if you have a picture and a nice background you can generally keep it slow and steady and your traffic will grow on its own.

If you have good tweets and not spams, if your account is old enough, you can follow upto 700+ a day to be on the safe side. There are tools that let you set a delay between follows which is good.
