always ask the seller for the sample before buying guest post service.
check the domain history and Wayback machine history.

@nifras if someone here did that to you then you need to report them through the shitlist and the mods will help you get your money back.

Yes, scammers (yes, they're) been doing that for a long time,
that includes both PBNs and/or website(s) built for the sake of selling guest posts (even by some other random webmaster),
Checking sample reports/websites and asking necessary questions are a must for any link building service

Sadly, that these type of sellers makes the majority of them,
just stick with a few ones that do work and provide quality for a decent price

True words they provide the service at a cheap cost then asking the buyer for the review. the thread will bump up again

Why you don't shit list? If not what was advertised...

Complaining will not stop them... shit list them please it will be a big step forward for the community.

Thanks for the tip!

I wouldn't be surprised that this happens more often than we care to realize.

It’s easy to see why people would want to do this.

When you say you have a guest post service, there are really two ways to go.

You can do raw outreach, filter all these websites by niche, and contact them to see if you can accept guest posts.

As you can probably tell, the conversion rate is going to be very low because a lot of this is just cold contacts.

The other approach is to basically shoot fish in the barrel by having your “guest posts” published easily and quickly on your own network.

The downside with that approach is niche specificity.

If the customer doesn’t really care where his or her links appear, this is not a problem.

But if they actually know what they're doing and understand the power of niche specificity, this is going to be an issue because your PBN has to have great SEO qualities, but it also has to be on niche.

I see OP’s point, but it really all boils down to how discriminating the customer is.

This is a natural way of preventing abuse.
