When you create a free software add always an info dialog where you write that its free and not be sold... than when someone buy this and seen it claim always a chargeback and you can fuck the seller!!! Now if you see the buyers names, contact them and say that the bot was free

Think a pop up at the start of the free bots may be in order soon to inform people if they have paid for it to contact me :)

Hehe, that is kinda Blackhat, huh? ;)

Why are you angry about them? Be proud that your freebie helps some people making some bucks with it. I have sold WordPress-Blogs and WordPress is free too... should I stop selling it?
So don't be angry but proud, take it as a compliment for your good work. And if there are people who buy your bot and find out that they could have get it for free THEY will be angry :)

Yeah, don't waste your time or energy on these folks, they will always be there and they will always leech anything that you give away. Especially here on BHW.

Just about all of the bots I have posted here on BHW are spread across the internet fairly quickly and most times I find them elsewhere, the fuckers that posted them did it as themselves. (So it appears as if they made them, then they get rep on whatever forum they shared on.)

However, there's really no reason to be upset or waste your energy on tracking them down. Just be glad that you don't charge for them, because people will always crack software, leech downloads, share keys, etc. There is no perfect protection for software and if your software is free, there's no point in wasting your time/energy on protecting it.

I haven't read the responses, but you should realize that it's obviously not enough for you to just tell fiverr support what the software does. Anyone could purchase it and do that. You need to provide proof that you're the owner that's all. It may seem like a "lot of work", but in reality if you gather all the proof and people keep stealing your software and selling it, you'll be able to submit the same thing every time fairly quickly.

Fiverr have taken both gigs down without me jumping through hoops - which was nice.
May do licensing for them all, see how it goes.

Your bot, your call. Free bot that you published openly is game item publicly. Maybe next time you should protect anything that's your property with adequate propriety notice and tos.

Put up a notice saying "This is a free program, if you paid for this then you have been scammed"

Yeah, you should put that notice lanbo pointed out.

In any case, I think it's great you took the giggs down. I would be in a shitty mood all day too if someone messed with my websites.

I was actually suspicious of something like this this whole week, check all my code, and then, since i had very bad revenue, it turned out it was some sort of passing trend I was too late to realize had passed.

Oh well, water under the bridge... Let's make some money!

Fatboy, I understand you...

I just found on Fiverr a man who sell this gig "I will give you a simple google scraper for $5" :
Code:
http://fiverr.com/kakeis/give-you-a-simple-google-scraper

It's strange, it looks like my free Google scraper... :
Code:
http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/black-hat-seo-tools/388679-christmas-gift-simple-google-scraper.html

So, I contacted the seller pretending to be interested and asked him a screenshot :
Code:

... Lol

Seriously, I don't care.
He is from Malaysia, it's not a rich country, so if he can make few dollars with my free tools, great for him.
Unfortunately, he have 0 orders...

He sells an old out of date and buggy version (1.2.1), and in the last version I inlcuded "This software is free and can't be sold" in the about box.

Utter piss take. This is what generally happens unfortunately.

I'm soon to launch some software as well, hopefully on this forum actually, and I'm making damn sure it's got proper protection.

Man, that sucks.

Great you got it sorted out though.

Maybe you could write somewhere on your bot that your bot itself is free and not to be sold.

Exactly like what kokoloko said. (thats a cool username)

Aye - none of the ones I found had any orders either.
I stuck a quick ad up worded differently to theirs and had a question from someone of fiverr. Within about 30 minutes upsold the $47 keyword follower bot so wall was good :)

They even offered to pay lots of gigs to cover the $47 plus Fiverr fees!

So result really and it will show that I have lots of successful gigs....winner :)

Protect it with a simple licence key loaded from your website at each start (you'll can easily disable a licence key).
If you use C#/.NET, don't forget to obfuscate your code and to pack EXE/DLL files with at least UPX or better PE Compact.

What I'm surprised about is the fact that fiverr even cared enough to ask for more details, then actually took down people's gigs.

I get gigs taken down all the time when I find my copyrighted images on them... it is not hard at all to contact support there.

Last one I reported took less than 30 minutes to have it removed.

Nice one mate. Using C++. Right now I'm looking at a particular commercial system which will make things pretty tough to crack.
